The Scarborough Village Theatre is a wonderful community all volunteer theatre located inside a community centre with free parking. It features a thrust stage (audience seated on 3 sides so great seating for everyone) and is home to three community theatre companies; Scarborough Theatre Guild, Scarborough Players and Scarborough Music Theatre. All 3 companies share the theatre alternating shows and publish a unified brochure listing all their shows throughout the season. Scarborough Village Theatre is entirely staffed by volunteers, so prices are very reasonable, especially if you buy a subscription to one or more of the three companies. Although the sets and costumes are understandably not as elaborate as professional shows, they certainly evoke the atmosphere of the plays they perform. The performances are usually very good, in fact the recent "Death of a Salesman" by the Scarborough Theatre Guild (pictured below) featured some of the best performances I've ever seen on any stage including professional shows.
