UPDATE: I was contacted by the manager of the branch after contacting the customer support per the "response from the owner reply". I stated I would consider returning if I received an apology directly from the advisor who was rude to me. He stated he would ask her to do so through a call or an email. That discussion was held at the beginning of December and no follow up from them. He also stated that he was slowly trying to improve wait times and that due to turnover in staff and shifting of staff many of the tellers were new. Since then, many of my neighbors have attended the branch and there has been absolutely no improvement. It seems to me that the branch manager has no intentions of following up on his promises or the feedback that is being given. If you want faster teller service the branch on Don Mills and Finch is much better. For advisor service I would recommend the Fairview Mall branch. Until an appropriate response from the manager of the branch is received I have no intention of returning to do ANY banking at this branch.
I would give zero stars if I could. Every time I go to this branch something is BOUND to go wrong regardless of how prepared I am. First of all, there's always at least a 30 min wait. I've never had an experience that's been any less of a 40 min wait at this location
My first experience was setting up a wire transfer for a deposit on a home my family was to purchase. The teller completely fumbled it up and put in the incorrect figures. The supervisor who was supposed to double check simply authorized it without double checking any figures or double checking my ID. This almost resulted in my losing the offer for the home if I wasn't able to etransfer the remaining funds. Apparently that freaking teller was a SUPERVISOR too. Completely ridiculous and incompetent.
The second time I booked a meeting with an advisor to reduce my wait time in line as I knew I would be going in on a Saturday. The advisor (Jean, 0/10 would not recommend unless you like being belittled and talked down to), was late to the meeting and spent time chatting with a random customer in front of me (we were sitting at the sofas) while I was clearly waiting for service. I indicated I wanted to have a bank draft prepared for the remaining down payment on my account and that I booked the meeting since it was a large sum (so I wanted to have it prepared in private) and the fact that it was time sensitive so I didn't want to gamble with the line. She was super snarky with me and started listing her job duties to me as if she was giving me a job description, stating she could not do bank drafts there cause she was an "advisor" and not a teller (while in line later for a teller I literally saw her at the teller counter working on the computers so that was ridiculous). Stating she was offended I asked (I wasn't aware only tellers could prepare bank drafts). While it was totally okay to redirect me to a teller, there a ways to speak to people that don't involve talking down to people.
There is literally only ONE manager there that deals with people in a respectable and kind fashion (honestly she needs to be moved to a location where her employees arent screwing her all the time). But this branch had literally made me reconsider banking with TD and I may move to RBC or BMO. I will NEVER attend this...
Read moreI learned today if you decide to get a bank draft of more than $5000, it requires two signatures. One is the person allowing the payment to be taken out of their account and the other is the bank teller from the branch to confirm the transaction.
I am with TD ever since I was a child and opened my first banking account with them. Today, Mom and I required a bank draft to allow a big purchase on a car. We walked into this specific branch and walked out with no problems at all. We ended up buying the car in Mississauga and having a meal after.
Then this branch called my mom relating to the bank draft they gave out. It turns out TWO signatures are required on the draft. My mom's signature was there. Their's wasn't. So they asked us if we can repick up the draft, drive back to this branch, sign it off, then return to the car dealership. The audacity. I needed to verify it was their fault on their end and we shouldn't be taking a trip to Scarborough. Then they okayed me to go to another branch to verify their authoriziation through telephone call between managers.
So I brought the new car back to the dealership, got the draft, went to another TD branch, and thankfully, the manager there authorized the transaction via phone call. This whole process took 1 hour and 30 minutes, where we had to cancel plans for the day for this. I am thankful for the manager (at Mississauga) for speaking on my behalf, but this is truly unacceptable. Keep in mind, we have family friends who drove us from Scarborough to Mississauga. So at least 4 people have been impacted by this situation.
I have yet to receive compensation and reading the comments for this branch, I can see that I am not the only one going through miserable experiences.
So let it be known to the reader, that if you need to make complicated transactions outside of depositing, withdrawing, and transferring money between accounts (they can do that), then go to another branch. You will save headaches, frustration/anger, and stress as their competence is severely lacking.
And you need TWO signatures when making a bank draft of over $5000. Do check before you leave. My experience is a situation for a car. Imagine if it is for a residence, like a condo or house.
My hope is not only you are informed (and not the same mistake I did), but this branch can get their act together and hopefully receive a review that they are a branch they can be trusted to handle complicated transactions.
Thanks for reading and...
Read moreWe deal with this TD for business banking. Usually we are pretty satisfied with the customer service for personal banking, but the lady at the counter for the business service exhibits a whole new level of customer services. She is rude and the level of attitude is impressive for someone working in a bank. It is quite disrespectful. And when you tell her that she doesn't need to give you attitude, she gives you more attitude. When you leave the bank after she has "helped" you, well you fee pretty low. She also allows herself to give you unnecessary criticism about your business banking. Is this how TD treats its clients? It's rather shocking. If this person is so unhappy in her work (because otherwise whatelse explains her attitude) why doesn't she find a job elsewhere, where she doesn't need to interact with clients. And when you try to get in contact with the manager because you didn't have time to talk to her personally, well you are left with no response. Beware, this lady will remember you and give you more disrespect the next time you come in (this was not a first time occurrence). Why is it that banks act like we owe them something, after all they are the ones using our money. If tomorrow the bank goes bankcrupt, we will never see our money again. Shouldn't we at least get some respect for that? I was contacted by the branch manager, which was very apprechiated, and we will give this branch and particular employee another chance, in the hope that next time we will be...
