Absolutely awful customer service. This is my bank that I use all the time and I’ve never had issues with any of the tellers.
I went there to replace a lost debit card. The lady told me she cannot grant me a new one unless I had my passport and or my birth certificate that’s on file. First off, Why would I be carrying around my birth certificate and passport? Second, I had my health card with me and there are security questions they’ve asked me in previous times when I needed a card replaced that sufficed so why was this time different? Where is the consistency with the tellers? Where’s the customer service? I said to her I did not have time to run back and forth to go get it and showed her a photo of my valid UP TO DATE passport. That was not accepted either because it was not the one on file, but the one on file was EXPIRED.
She refused to level with me and try and made do with what I had so, I ran home , ran back and showed her the IDs. In the process my wallet fell out of my pocket with a large sum of money and my health card and credit cards. All because this person could not just simply help me with the information I had and had to make the situation SO MUCH more complicated than it needed to be.
If the bank wasn’t so close I would stop going there all together. I just hope in the future they have better customer service skills and the tellers are consistent across the board so the customers don’t get confused on what’s acceptable...
Read moreMy debit card expiring this month. Went to get a new debit card about 3 weeks ago, the teller told me if I want to keep the same number they'll mail it to me in about 2 weeks time. Today It's the third week, new card never arrived. Went in to get a new card, they said I have to bring my PR card or passport to obtain a new card ( which is a new info for me) so I left and grab my passport and PR card and did the whole thing all over again. Having to wait in line 3 times during the pandemic for a card that should be automatically updated. This time a new teller was serving me, according to her they don't send out debit card through mail only credit card. Honestly this whole experience left a really bad taste in my mouth. All the misinformation, and the back and forth, TD made me feel like a second class citizen. I'm a loyal customer of TD since 2003, I'm planning to close my accounts and move them into more reliable financial institution that actually gives correct informations to their customer. Seeing no branch rep replying to all the negative reviews confirmed my belief that TD doesn't care at all about their...
Read moreI made an appointment with Johnny to talk about my finances. I told him that I don't know what I'm doing and my financial goal is that I just want to save money.
He was very engaging and we started off just talking about the different savings accounts and what each account does. I asked for some pen and paper because writing information down helps me understand and and take the information I'm receiving. He was more than happy to lend me some paper and a pen.
Once I understood the different type of saving accounts there are, we went step by step of trying to figure out which savings account would be best for me. He was very transparent and answered my questions.
It was a really fun appointment and I felt secure with my finances that I was taking a step forward with my life. It also showed me that learning about finances isn't that scary and it's something that I can purse to learn on my own but for now I'll probably just go to Johnny if I have...
