Extreme Air Park — Attraction in Township of Langley

Horrible service, staff members extremely rude, condescending & unhelpful!

We came in on Canada Day this year which is also my step son’s birthday, 4 adults viewing & 4 kids jumping. It was quite a hot day, and the air conditioning seemed to be on a very low setting as it was still quite warm inside the venue, (us adults not jumping were all sweating just standing in the viewing area - the kids were another story). When I went up the counter to ask if there was any way to increase the AC, she cut me off mid sentence to state “it’s on”. When I tried to reiterate it was still quite warm and that the adults were also having a hard time, she again cut me off mid sentence to tell me that its because the kids are jumping that they’re hot and sweaty. Her attitude was quite condescending and it was clear she wasn’t willing to hear me out, so I left it at that and went to the vending machine to get the kids some cold drinks. I don’t know if it’s a money saving thing to have everything running on its lowest energy setting, but the drinks from the vending machine were also not cold, which was quite disappointing.

When the kids couldn’t manage the heat any longer, we were getting ready to leave but they hadn’t opened the rock climbing area so far that day. As there was no signage posted regarding when it would be open and the kids really wanted to try it before leaving, I went up to the counter to ask the front desk lady when it might be opening. Her cold response was “whenever someone is free to work there, we’re busy right now”. I saw two people behind her in the back area chatting to each other and one other person was on the floor emptying garbage cans. I tried to politely ask again if there was any time estimate she may be able to provide as it was my son’s birthday and he really wanted to try it out before we left that day. With this, she pointed to the one person on the floor emptying garbage bags, and reiterated with a very rude tone that “they’re BUSY and whenever SHE was finished they would open it”. I tried to ask if someone could just ask her when she might be done, as she was just emptying a few garbage cans, but I was interrupted again mid sentence for the front desk lady to reiterate, “whenever SHES done, it will open”. At this point I was quite frustrated with her treatment and tried to explain that while I understood what she was saying, I was just hoping for an estimated timeline because we were getting ready to leave. She AGAIN, cut me off mid sentence to say, “WHENEVER SHES DONE”, at which time we packed up our kids and left the venue disappointed and extremely frustrated. We also noticed that the entire time we were there, not one staff member walked the floor to check on children or enforce any of the safety rules posted in the venue. This was left up to us parents who paid for our kids and just wanted to be able to relax and watch them enjoy themselves.

This was our child’s birthday, a day we were hoping to make special. I went out of my way in my dealings with this front desk woman to keep my tone light regardless of her rude and condescending behaviour as I didn’t want to make anyone uncomfortable. Her attitude and dealings with me were completely inappropriate in a place of work, let alone anywhere else. She does not deserve to be working a front desk with customers, especially children. She would not listen, constantly cutting me off with an extremely dismissive tone. This is a PAID activity, where people come and pay their hard earned money for their kids to enjoy themselves, but we were provided with the absolute bare minimum. In terms of comfort, food/drink options, safety, and customer service. The absolute bare minimum.

FOR MANAGEMENT: Front desk lady was a younger East Indian woman, straight hair a little below shoulder length. We came in at 12:00pm and she worked the front desk until we left that day, unfortunately.

I will not be returning to this location, I would rather drive an hour to another location than return here with my kids, for all the reasons listed above....

Important: Staffs are so...

Had my sons birthday party here yesterday and we were really disappointed. It was CHAOS. We should have known better when the location wouldn't pick up the phone and we had to drive there to just get our basic questions answered about the party packages so we could confidently place our reservation. We are glad that we drove there because we got answers to our questions and were told to use the website for more info. A lot of our questions were because the website is so vague. BDAY pkg: "Pizza for every jumper" ....but the website doesn't say how much pizza is included. We were told in person that we'd get 2 slices from the location but then when you call to place the order (which is NOT this specific location, rather a central office #), they said only 1 slice per jumper....so that's when the extra charges start to appear. Glad we asked/verified because that would have been awfully embarrassing if we didn't have enough food. We're happy to pay extra for the additional food but the location shouldn't have told us something that doesn't match up with the people you place the order with.

Then, we tried to add the "professionally created loot bags" @ $7/each based on the website description....apparently these are not available right now because of covid. Covid has been around for a few years now and the website should have been updated to remove this option or at least say "option based on availability" or something to help the customer know this add-on option may NOT be available so that customers have time to plan another means of getting loot bags but we are only finding this info out when we were confirming the order.....we inquired with the location and they said "oh yeah, our website is not updated"......yet, its literally where they pointed us to go to get info BEFORE we placed our party reservation.

If you want to decorate the party room, or reserve a larger room, you can't....we paid for extra time but even then, wasn't at all what we are used to with venues that host kids bday parties.

The rooms were clean but the ENTIRE hallway/every room smelled TERRIBLE...moldy smell. I didn't even eat because the smell made me nauseous.

They are VERY short on staff, considering how busy it is. The staff is really young and they are working REALLY hard but the inexperience shows....there were some bully teenagers that were throwing dogeballs at our party/young kids and making them cry. We told our party to stay away from that area because of this but then the teenagers followed the kids to other areas even though you're not supposed to take the doge balls out of the area. So, I had to get involved. Staff was helpful but shouldn't they have had staff at each section to help monitor/control kids that are misbehaving....especially for safety, if nothing else. The rule on the website is that if you're 5 and younger, you should be accompanied by a parent - makes total sense but at least 1 staff per section or even roaming between 2 sections would be a HUGE improvement.

There also should be some flexibility - we paid for more jumpers that showed up and I realize that it's not the business' fault but from a customer experience standpoint, we paid for a service that was not used. I don't expect credit but at least offer us gift card(s) so that we can give it to the kids that couldn't make it. Seems more reasonable than just taking money and getting nothing.

Very tiny party rooms, kids couldn't even get in/out of chairs. What's crazy is that it was beneficial that some of our party didn't show up because this was TERRIBLE and it would've only been worse with more kids....felt really weird having to tell parents to stay in the hallway just so the kids had space to move.
