We stayed for our second time at these cabins in the one bedroom unit. The location is the best in all of Wasagaming….right across the street from the beach. There is so much potential for these cabins to be charming and a slice of heaven but they are tired, neglected and becoming run down.||The owners (mother and son) are both nice, chatty, friendly people. ||The one bedrooom cabin is about 600 square feet which is comfortable and adequate. The utensils and appliances are quite new, well taken care of and allows guests to feel comfortable using them.||There were many basic things that were run down such as:|Deck chair was ripped and not useable|Door screen was ripped|Outside of cabin was filthy, cob webbed and peeling.|Kitchen curtain were shredded|Deck railing had significant bird droppings on it….unsanitary and off putting.|Shower drain was not screwed down…could cut feet or lose items down drain.|Bathroom linoleum was peeling back.||All of these items could have been taken care of with an hour or so of effort and vastly improved the facilities.||Quality control and attention to detail though doesn’t appear to be a priority which happens when you are fully booked year after year. A bit of attention and effort would be appreciated and vastly improve the...

Read moreIdlewylde cabins are beautiful log cabins across from Clearlake beach and pier. My friend and I stayed in Cabin 2 recently. There were two bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths. One bedroom is the master and it has a spa tub in it, which we didn’t use. The other bedroom is small with a twin bed next to a window. The cabins are very conveniently located across from Clearlake beach. Taking our tripods out to photograph the night skies was very convenient and we also enjoyed going for walks on the beach and pier.
The fireplace is wood burning so we didn’t use it. Everything is provided except for bath towels and paper towels. If you need bars of soap, you ask for it. The office was next to our cabin so it was easy for us to walk over and chat with the owner. He was always in during office hours.
The beds and pillows are comfortable. The furnace gets hot pretty quickly. The stairs are a bit steep going down. The knives needed sharpening. The shower was lovely and hot.
There are restaurants and a small grocery store next to Idlewylde property. They serve meals too. There’s also a Clearlake information building that is open year round. They provide maps and are friendly and helpful about...
