I have been playing with a set of custom made irons for over 15 years and felt that technology has changed enough to warrant a new set of clubs. I was fortunate to find a master club fitter, Lincoln Li, at Fraserview.

I really enjoyed the entire fitting process starting with the interview (personal goals, look and feel of the club head, grip preference), followed by the testing of various shafts and club heads, and finally fitting the loft and lies. It's important to note that my goals were to be more consistent, not to hit the ball further; it would be a bonus if I did hit the ball further. I have played 12 rounds with the new clubs and the unbiased feedback from my golfing buddies is they have seen a significant improvement in my approach to the greens.

A few other points to note: Lincoln was very honest with his recommendation of the club head for me; his final recommendation was based on his professional views combined with the numbers from the launch monitor. I must have tried a dozen different club heads but the club made by Wishon Golf matched with a graphite shaft with extra weight on the grip was the best for my swing speed.

I appreciated his follow up process to get feedback on the clubs.

Conclusion: I would recommend Lincoln to anyone looking for a set of custom fitted irons (or woods).

Thank...

I’m a senior fair weather golfer, only playing 9 holes at Langara with the ladies group, once a week, ie, not ready to golf at Fraserview yet. After a terrible round of 18 holes golf out of town, b’c of bad back & the course we played was known to be very difficult, I felt I needed a short lesson for driver & fairway woods. I haven’t even used 3 woods at all. A session with Ye definitely helped, figuring out what was wrong with my grip, stance, hand positions, etc. I was able to hit 3 wood well once, a perfect shot. Of course, I couldn’t repeat it without much practice. She showed me how I can practice to correct initial takeaway, which was main problem and corrected my hip turning. My hand position was also majorly affecting my shots. She was very good at spotting a lot of bad things while I swung, unlike my husband who is a much better golfer than I’m. I will have more lessons once I make all the change. She gave me a compliment about my 8 iron shots at the beginning of the lesson, even with the faults of my swing that my shot was long, giving me hope that if I practice & make better swing, I will have better...

Fantastic muni - my favorite of the 3 Vancouver city courses - not as challenging as McCleery, not as flat and straight forward as Langara, but very playable for all skill levels. Feels like it’s the largest of the 3 courses and has varied terrain, the front 9 slopes downhill and towards Marine Drive (most of the greens slope towards the south), until you hit hole 8 and start your way back up. Lots of opportunities to stick it close on the front 9 as the downhill lies make many of the holes a bit shorter than the yardages appear. Hole 10 and onwards have a different feel with more uphill holes. There are 3 distinct Par 3s (7, 13, 16) which are fun and challenging - massive elevation change, a water feature and a short downhill. Always tough to find prime times at the course, so book early. Pre-COVID the tee times were stacked and wait times between holes were inevitable, but seems to be better now with a few more minutes between groups. Course was in great shape for late summer. There is a driving range and a couple practice greens. An East Van golf...

A nice golf course in the city. If you are not a golfer, you can enjoy a drink or a coffee in the restaurant. The patio has the really nice view. The trail around the golf course is good for a long or short walk. I don't know whey they are not plant nice flowers in 2025. All the umbrellas are not set up yet. Hopefully, the flower bed will be more colourful later. The summer baskets give us more colours! Autumn is a good time for visiting the golf course too.

Had a great time at this course. Pros -Challenging layout with lots of features to navigate around. -moved fairly quickly for a summer afternoon. -good facilities with washrooms and water strategically placed around the course. Cons -Greens were slow and had lots of divots This course has a lot of elevation changes and can be a challenging walk. One piece of advice
