The best bridge for drivers with eight lanes with ramps coming and going everywhere. The person who designed it had a lot of foresight to accommodate future population growth and increased traffic. As a result the bridge is never busy and traffic moves fast. Maybe a bit too fast as the police often watching for speeders. It is fun watching the fastest and expensive cars getting stopped by police.
Driving north from South Granville has the best view of downtown with the mountains in the background. If you are going to Stanley park stay in the centre lanes and second exit to pacific boulevard westbound.
When driving from downtown to Kitsilano, best to use Howe street, stay in the left lane. Once on the bridge use the right two lanes for Kitsilano. This is better than using the ancient narrow Burrard bridge. The bridge is never congested at anytime of the day. Congestion only happens downtown before you get on the bridge.

From a driving perspective it was ideal with eight lanes; four in either direction with on ramps & off ramps offering various options into & out of the city center.
