Beer to Second Beach Swimming Pool in Stanley Park, Vancouver, many times and I must say it is a fantastic experience. The swimming pool, nestled in the heart of the park, offers a refreshing and enjoyable way to beat the summer heat. Only negative is since Covid you are only allowed to be in pool for a certain time slot which sucks. But anyway we make the most of it.
The pool itself is clean and well-maintained. The water is crystal clear and the temperature is just right for a relaxing swim. The pool is also quite spacious, providing ample room for both swimming laps and leisurely floating. Whether you're looking to get in some exercise or simply unwind, the Second Beach Swimming Pool offers the perfect setting.
The surrounding area of the pool is also worth mentioning. The pool is located right by the beach, offering breathtaking views of English Bay. The sandy beach is a great spot to relax and soak up the sun after a swim. There are also plenty of amenities nearby, including picnic areas, playgrounds, and concession stands, making it a great destination for families and friends.
The staff at the Second Beach Swimming Pool are friendly and attentive. They ensure that the pool area is clean and safe, and they are always available to assist with any questions or concerns. The lifeguards on duty are vigilant and provide an added sense of security, especially for families with children.
Overall, I highly recommend the Second Beach Swimming Pool in Stanley Park, Vancouver. It offers a wonderful opportunity to cool off and enjoy the beauty of the park and the stunning views of English Bay. With its clean facilities, friendly staff, and picturesque location, the Second Beach Swimming Pool is a must-visit destination for locals and...
Read moreFun pool for everyone. There are no toys supplied so bring your own balls and floats. There are a few Adirondack style chairs on the deck, but there truly are only a few so I recommend bringing your own chairs or towels to relax on. There are 3 water slides that appeal to different age groups and swim abilities: pre-school, younger elementary school aged kids, and older elementary school aged kids/young teens. This is a chlorine pool, which some may find surprising as it is on the shore of Second Beach. There are nice, organized lanes to swim in if you would like to work out.
There are warm, outdoor showers within the pool area but the change rooms are outside the pool, next to the food kiosk. There is not a lot of shade to be had so if that is import to you, bring an umbrella/beach shelter. You are allowed to bring your own picnic into the pool area and you can come and go if you get your hand stamped. There are drinking fountains near the pool entrance.
This is very economical family fun... parents and children can visit for just over $3 per person. Punch passes are available for multiple visits and I believe season passes are as well.
The only reason I gave this 4 stars is because it is somewhat inconvenient for the bathrooms and change rooms to be outside of the pool site, but they are only a...
Read moreMy family of 3 visited this pool while vacationing in Vancouver in August. We arrived on a Tuesday at 11 am and found a parking spot right next to the pool (parking was $13 for more than 3 hrs). This is a GIGANTIC pool, the biggest I've ever seen. The pool water was super clean, the cleanest I've been in in a long time. The temp was just right and you can't even tell it is salt water. Most of the pool is around 3 to 4 ft deep, with the deepest end being 5 ft. Here are some tips and highlights:
Bring your own chairs as there are very few available at the pool. Also bring your own beach towels.
There are bathrooms and changing rooms onsite. They aren't the cleanest or the most private, but they work out fine.
There is a concessions stand by the pool's front entrance which serves burgers and fish and chips. The food was fine, but a bit expensive.
It wasn't too crowded on the Tuesday we visited, but even if it was the pool is so huge there's plenty of room.
Very small storage lockers are available for rent (I believe for 25¢) which are approximately 14" x 14" x 16".
Food is allowed in the pool area.
In summation, my family had a great time at the pool with no issues. A perfect...
