I was a member here for a year. The grounds are very well kept and the facility is a great place to host an event.
That being said, the service is a hit or miss. Some of the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful while others are condescending, rude and generally unavailable. The food is mediocre, at best. The club has great "event food" but there are much nicer restaurants at this price range. Most of the people who eat here seem to be regulars and probably haven't tried a different restaurant in the past decade.
If you're looking at becoming a member, you'll be paying about $2,800/year for a regular membership which includes the gym, curling and some activities. Keep in mind you'll need to spend $600/year on food. You'll also need to wait about 2 weeks for them to get back to you and another 2 weeks to get accepted.
The gym is clean and is equipped with very basic machines. It is also fairly quiet so you won't need to wait too long for any equipment, if at all. It won't accommodate more than 6 people at once. If you're joining because of the gym, do yourself a favour and look elsewhere.
The golf grounds are immaculate as you would expect them to be when paying over $20k/year for a membership. I'm not an avid golfer and only managed to play twice here but all the long time members I've met seem to really enjoy the course despite having gone threw it hundreds of times. It's also in the city which is a huge plus.
Curling is top notch, the people are great and it's a very nice atmosphere.
Ultimately I left because of a few bad experiences with the service team, one more so than the rest. I would have probably stayed and upgraded to a golf membership in a few years if it wasn't for the service and the food purchase...
Read moreThe club is gorgeous. My fav. part is the gazillion free parking spaces, thank you very much, what a treat that was. The buffet was perfect and the bar and dining room staff were top notch professional, I can't say enough about how great the staff were, they were all men btw. Pat on the back to them please and thank you.
There were some very handsome, well dressed tall men wandering about where we enjoyed some eye flirting so that was fun. Some of the apparently female club members were aholes to us in the ladies room, they behaved like us guests didn't have a right to be in the building and they made loud enough for us to hear comments about how there must be an event on.... to explain why there was a line up in the ladies room. Their tone was decidedly snotty and unwelcoming. Well excuse me b1tchezzz. Maybe the club should keep the hallway bathroom for event guests only and direct the members to some other place where our filthy common germs won't mingle with these few wanna bees. Seriously, some people need...
