What a great place to escape during the summer. I went to Beach 3 each time. It's nowhere near as busy as Beaches 1 and 2. And that works for me. It's pleasant. The water is warm and the waves are very enjoyable. There's also a dog area at Beach 3, marked by fence signs. It's a shame you can't take your dog for that entire beach area, but there's always plenty of streets you can walk your dog on around town, so it makes up for it.
Additionally, for you stargazers, amateur astronomers and astrophotographers out there, this is a great place to look at the night sky! The Dark Sky map says this area is hot but I've found it be quite clear, even better than Forks of the Credit River park in Caledon. Plus, there's always the roads around Simcoe County if you wanna get an even clearer peak at the Milky Way and the surrounding stars. I like the beach because my lens doesn't fog up as easily as it would at a park with no lake next to it, plus the sound of the waves, some food, music and a chair can make your stargazing a wonderful experience. Even better with a friend or that special someone. Highly recommend going during the Perseids meteor shower, but even if you miss it, you can still go to the beach. I caught some nice timelapse footage of the sunset and milky way there, so I highly recommend this spot.
And lastly,
TO THE KIND STRANGER WHO FOUND MY CAR KEYS AT THE BEACH: THANK YOU! Thank you so much. I was the driver of the 4-door sedan and like an idiot, I dropped by my keys walking back to the beach. When I came to my car, they were placed on the door handle. Whoever you are, you did me a huge solid back there. You saved my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Another reason why this place gets a perfect score, because good people...
Read moreI recently visited Wasaga Beach during the winter and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed my experience. Although the beach is typically associated with summer activities, there's plenty to see and do during the winter months as well.
One of the highlights of my visit was taking a leisurely walk along the snow-covered beach. The views of the frozen shoreline and the surrounding snow-covered trees were simply breathtaking. It was also great to have the beach virtually to ourselves, allowing for a peaceful and serene experience.
In addition to the stunning natural scenery, there are also plenty of nearby attractions and activities to enjoy. I highly recommend checking out the various local shops and restaurants in the nearby town of Wasaga Beach. The town is full of charming shops and eateries, perfect for a day of exploring.
For those looking for more adventurous activities, there are also plenty of winter sports to enjoy. Wasaga Beach is a popular spot for snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. The local parks and trails offer plenty of opportunities to enjoy these winter sports.
Overall, I would highly recommend a winter visit to Wasaga Beach. The natural beauty of the beach and surrounding area is truly remarkable, and there are plenty of activities and attractions to keep you entertained. Whether you're looking for a peaceful winter getaway or an action-packed adventure, Wasaga Beach has something...
Read moreWe went to wasaga beach area 1 on 5th June 2021, a nice hot summer day and as one can expect, there were lots of people around. We could still social distance however I have not seen such huge crowd since the start of pandemic and this totally felt like the pandemic is over and that the world is getting back to normal (hopes!). The beach is nice, there are washrooms and change rooms to change over, nice few restaurants at the beach itself (rarely seen this on beach, so I was surprised), waters were not so cold, after 5-10min in water, you will start enjoying it. The thing I didn’t like about this beach is the waters were not crystal clear/blue as we have on other famous beach so if you are looking for blue waters, this might not be the one for you. We overall had an awesome time and enjoyed our day out after a long time! Will definitely go there next time. Another important note is that parking is limited at the beach and a very big queue for over hours. So be prepared to wait in big queue, we reached there around 3pm , I would recommend to either park a far way from beach and walk down (as we did) or maybe try to go early morning (maybe it won’t be the same early morning- 9am)....
