My visit to Curry Grill and Bar located in the heart of Wasaga Beach turned out to be a memorable dining experience, thanks to the delightful Indian dishes we savored and the commendable service provided by our server, Harpreet. Despite visiting on a bustling long weekend, the quality of the food and the dedication of our server made our evening enjoyable.
Service: Harpreet, our server, was the highlight of our evening. His sweet demeanor and earnest efforts to provide the best service possible did not go unnoticed. He tried his best to accommodate our needs promptly, even under the pressure of the restaurant being severely understaffed, a management issue that was palpable during our visit.
Veg Crispy: A fantastic start, this dish featured deep-fried vegetables tossed in a sweet and spicy sauce, offering a delightful Indian Hakka fusion that tickled our taste buds. The perfect balance of flavors made it a hit at our table.
Chicken Seekh Kebab: These kebabs were a standout, being exceptionally tender and well-seasoned. It was evident that a lot of care had gone into preparing them, resulting in a dish that was both aromatic and satisfying.
Mutton Curry: Opting for something less spicy, we were pleased with the mutton curry. The meat, cooked on the bone, was tender, and the curry was flavorful without being overwhelmingly hot, showcasing the kitchen's ability to tailor dishes to customer preferences.
Paneer Butter Masala: This dish was a creamy delight, with soft paneer that melted in the mouth, enveloped in a rich, buttery tomato sauce. It was the comfort food we didn't know we needed, and it paired wonderfully with naan.
Drinks: Our drinks were another highlight, refreshing and well-crafted, providing a nice complement to the rich flavors of our meal.
Overall Experience: Despite the evident staffing issue, which did impact our waiting times, the quality of the food and the earnest service provided by Harpreet made our visit to Curry Grill and Bar a positive one. The restaurant serves up authentic and delicious Indian cuisine that is definitely worth trying when in Wasaga Beach. While the management could improve the dining experience by addressing the staffing situation, especially during peak times, the culinary delights we enjoyed warrant a strong recommendation for this...
Read more5 star because my partner was very impressed by the service. He said he'd even go there by himself to dine in because the food was so good also.
We ordered take out and was quoted a time but when he got there, food wasn't ready and it was so busy+ packed! (understandable since it's a summer weekend in Wasaga). I went grocery shopping while he waited. Food did indeed take double the quoted time but it didn't matter because it was worth the wait.
A gentleman working, apologized profusely and after a while he offered my partner a drink while waiting. This completely won my partner over and now seems to be pretty loyal to this place because of this. It really shows how a caring gesture goes a long way.
I really liked the daal + breads. (this time we ordered their buttered naan. it comes with 3 pieces in one order)
Partner loved the lamb Vindaloo and chicken Biryani. His favourite beer (Flying Monkey something) is there so he's just in love.
All this came to $52 which was very reasonable. I do really appreciate this since it makes it a good local spot and not just a touristic place. great location in terms of walking distance to the beach also.
thank you for your service! you seem to have made an impression for my partner. we (especially he)...
Read moreHonestly, a very disappointing experience. I usually don’t leave reviews, but after multiple bad experiences and being pushed to write one, I had to share this.
We ordered both veg and non-veg curries from this place. They ended up giving us two non-veg curries — due to their carelessness. The chicken was clearly frozen — not just cold, but still frozen. It looked like something straight out of a Walmart frozen pack, just dumped into curry. We’re not foolish — we know the difference between fresh food and this.
The other curry was equally bad, absolutely disgusting in taste and quality. People usually order food because they’re tired, busy, or in need — and getting food like this just makes you regret placing the order in the first place.
If this is the standard they maintain, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Very poor quality and careless service. Total waste of...
