Welland is gonna clear cut the west side of the canal for a big residential development - and some retail and commercial space. Oh it'll be connected somehow to Seaway Mall....super idea, except it's at least half empty. Shouldn't that be filled up before building more useless retail space? There will be a pedestrian bridge across the canal....so be careful if you're out paddling - it'll be a perfect spot for degenerates to drop stuff on you. Of course local roads are narrow and crumbling, and nothing will be done about that. But the city will get a whopping $500k over ten years from the developer! Whoo hoo. That'll definitely cover all the future maintenance costs and make up for increased traffic, destruction of nature and probably pollution of the canal. Looking forward to the inevitable complaints about displaced coyotes in residential neighbourhoods. Thought there was some committee supposed to protect the canal area, but I guess not. If you're thinking of moving to Niagara for the natural beauty...hahahaha they've cut...

Good for vigorous, fresh air, outdoor walking, biking, rollerblading or assisted conveyance. Well treed, paved and level for any age and ability. A second parallel route, more natural pathway and slightly uneven but easy walking. You can even walk with the Mayor on Monday mornings at 7:30 AM!
