Very disappointing experience from beginning to end. It all began with the golf portion of the day. My husband and son along with our friend and their son went to play a round of golf. They showed up to the course 1.5 hours early to try to capture the full experience of this beautiful course and what it has to offer. They ordered lunch which took forever to get…in fact they didn’t get their lunch as the order wasn't placed properly in the system and the kitchen didn’t make it. They delivered their meal to them On the course after they started their round. Then part way through their round one of the carts abruptly stopped while driving full speed sending them into the windshield. Instead of bringing a new cart to them the Marshall gave them his (bins of dirt in it) and took the old cart away with their belongings and score card in it. From there we joined them outside for some drinks and dinner. Our server was AMAZING which definitely helped with the situation. My husband ordered a tenderloin and asked for it rare. When it arrived it clearly wasn’t cooked properly it was Medium for sure. Not usually an issue as he would never send it back but after their golf experience he just decided to ask the server about it. She completely agreed and got the manager to come over. The manager took the steak away and said she would bring out a new one but later returned with the steak saying it was actually cooked properly and that it was the lighting and she took her phone out and shined her flashlight on it. All of us were so caught off guard by this and the fact that he now had to eat a cold steak and meal that had been back and forth to the kitchen. The manager was absolutely deplorable in terms of her service. This was such a simple thing that ruined the remainder of this experience. $1800 spent playing golf, dinner and the pro shop. We unfortunately will not be returning or recommending this...
Read moreThe company I work for purchased gift vouchers for the course.
They had expired in the summer 2025, however I did get in contact with the course and shared the vouchers with them and asked if it was possible to have them extended.
I was pleasantly surprised when the director of golf Andrew Smart (who was AMAZING to deal with, and if anything over accommodating) told me that he would accept the vouchers even with the date expiry/limitations and we agreed to a booking for October 4th (Saturday). I was very grateful to him, and at that point I was very impressed.
Fast forward a month to the tee time date. Upon arrival at the course, the gentleman at the pro shop (slicked back blonde length hair with short beard) was rude and unnecessarily difficult in accepting the vouchers.
I showed him the email thread of my conversation with the director of golf for the course. In the email it was clear I provided photos of the vouchers and was open with the fact that they had expired and all the limitations they specified.
Honestly, this employee made us feel completely unwanted. For someone who is clearly not above the title of Director of Golf made us feel like we were not welcome at the course, after their superior had agreed a tee time was unacceptable.
There are four people who will never return to this course after that interaction, 100% due to this one employee. Completely...
Read moreThe course itself is fun and offers good golf, but the overall experience left a lot to be desired. There is very little signage between holes, which led us to accidentally walk to the wrong hole early in the round. We quickly corrected ourselves, and the group behind us was very understanding.
Unfortunately, the marshall experience was the opposite. Two holes later, he told us we were three minutes behind schedule. We explained the situation and agreed to pick up the pace. After grabbing a quick drink a few holes later, he returned saying we were now five minutes behind and proceeded to tail us on every shot for the next four holes, even though we were still a full hole ahead of the group behind.
When confronted, the marshall was confrontal and dismissive, insisting that “this was his job,” and even went so far as to accuse the group behind us of complaining. This was not only untrue, but also an incredibly poor practice that reflects badly on the course’s hospitality. The group behind us had been nothing but kind and understanding earlier in the round.
We ended up finishing in just over four hours, which is a perfectly reasonable pace. However, if you plan to walk this course, don’t expect time to stop at the washrooms or grab a refreshment. From a hospitality standpoint, Fairmont Golf Course or Whistler Golf Club provide a much...
