Bathrooms are very clean and the yurts are nice. Customer service falls very short. We booked a yurt and were placed near a service road that had traffic rerouted for all spa guests due to construction. There were cars and people coming and going all day. At night they ran a loud generator for giant spot lights for the spa guests. Management did not warn us about the extra noise while booking. No mention on their website either. Management offered to move us to a quiter spot for a $150 relocation fee. No thanks I won't be spending any more money here. Also you need a token to take a shower ( which at $150 a night for yurt guests is ridiculous) but of course you can only get the token from the office when they aren't closed. Here's an idea use real coins. The spa also used a gas powered golf cart to move guests back and forth every 5 minutes so the air was sweet with the smell of exhaust . It's exactly how I imagined a weekend in the mountains, thanks Riverside!

Posting in a half of my MIL and friend DANGEROUS BEAR IN WALK IN CAMPGROUND Thurs Aug 5 overnight - bear flipped over metal bear bin and ate food in neighbouring site. Called conservation officer, seemed familiar w this bear, had prev been relocated from area. We left the campground 2 days early and got an air BnB. Sat Aug 7 overnight - ran into family that we warned about the bear. They reported that on Sat night same bear flipped over multiple metal bear bins, tried to get into vehicles, stalked around a tent w a family in it. Called 911, police shot it w rubber bullets and it still came back. Not sure what the plan is but I would not stay in walk in sites until bear is destroyed. No staff at campground overnight, front desk not in until 9am each day. Spoke to front desk about this, they seemed unconcerned. Other campers we warned about the bear were also not warned about it when they checked in. Photo of bear and damage from Thurs attached to review.

1 star experience at this 3 star RV park. Would have been 3 stars based on [i] park maintenance (garbage on the ground around the dumpsters and unkept/overgrown landscaping), [ii] sites are small/tight, [iii] putting course is permanently closed despite still appearing on Google Maps. Giving 1 star because [i] I reserved one of the more private sites and then got bumped to a site with no privacy (see photo). [ii] The site I ended up on (W6) turns into a puddle / stream when it rains (including the pavement. [iii] Encountered other small annoyances like the utility kiosk did not accommodate a surge protector or hose Y-fitting and initially the power was reading as reverse polarity. What you’re paying for here is the proximity to Whistler so if you choose to stay here set your park expectations accordingly. Next time in Whistler I will try Whistler RV Park even though it is about 20 minutes south of town.

Beautiful place, decent camp site. We stayed for two days. What we were not told was campfires are to be put out at 10pm!!! First night we arrive after a day of traveling around 7 check in was fairly easy but clearly lacking professionalism maybe new hires?! We get to our campsite at 7:30 it was an OK size but no privacy. We had to hand pack everything in. We quickly set up our tent, start on dinner and light a fire. When we are done eating around 9:30 we hand pack everything back to the truck because of bear proofing. we get back to our campsite and can't wait to relax by the campfire, just the two of us no kids, when a guy starts yelling at everyone to put out there campfires. When people asked why he said it was the rules and front desk told us about them. First no they didn't! Second he didn't need to be rude about it. Third it was bloody cold this weekend and that's are only source of heat unlike the RVs on the property. Here's the best part my husband and I decided to go for a walk that evening all the fire pits in front of the RVs where all lite they hadn't been told to turn there's off. Saturday morning wake up have a shower, I put tokens in because you have to pay to shower, and no hot water spent $4.00 to take a cold shower after being freezing all night do to no camp fires.Skip forward to check out day Sunday, 8:30am..office is closed I'm trying to return a propane tank, there's people trying to check out but there's no staff. I've never seen anything like that, cafe closed too?! Whistler is stunning and the camps site are OK, but the staff and the rules really knock this place down a peg. It could be great if campfires where allowed til midnight and quiet time...

READ BEFORE BOOKING

Very friendly staff but does not compensate for the most expensive parking spot you will ever sleep in.

Mind Bogglingly over priced, and yet they can't even supply you with half decent wifi.

If considering winter camping and driving a large trailer or RV to riverside be extremely careful or consider not coming at all due to their road maintenance. The municipally cleared roads are fine throughout winter and generally everywhere else in town but as soon as you turn into the RV park its as if your 80k up a logging road.

After staying here I feel as though the people who own this resort are sitting in their mansions laughing at what they can get away with.

Riverside Resort is taking advantage of the people suffering from the housing crisis by upping the monthly rent and charging people $1200 a month for a parking spot with a hole in the ground. While staying here you receive a "Metered site" which includes 100 dollars worth of electricity, however if you don't go under that 100 dollars you don't get any money back.

You have to pay to use their facilities.. want to have a shower? Make sure you go into their main offices while their open to buy "shower" tokens. The showers also only last 6 minutes after that they shut off, perfect for getting stuck naked with shampoo in your hair!! This place seriously is a nightmare. It feels like they're squeezing every dime out of you.

I understand that this place has just gone under new management and that these are all new "upgrades" to the RV park but something needs to change... it is just such a rip off.

*I had to re-boot the internet 6 times...

We’ve have been camping for many, many years… all over the Western United States, British Columbia and Alberta. Nice people everywhere… Whistler’s Riverside Resort is an exception. Small, very narrow parking spots for your trailer or motorhome separated by shrubbery where you share every special camping-moment with your neighbors on both sides. If you have a problem, the “resort” front-deck is generally staffed by socially inept teenage or 20-somethings who have difficulty managing more than two things at once, and will treat you critically if you’ve disturbing that delicate balance. (…we’ve camped there before and experienced this first-hand). We scheduled a weekend the end of this July, 2017 but my daughter’s husband, an Army veteran became critically ill (from an injury in Afghanistan), I called Riverside Resort (over a week before our arrival date) to cancel our reserve and explained why… “No. If it’s not before two-weeks, we absolutely will not refund your deposit.” “…it doesn’t matter, we won’t.” You need to email a cancellation request in writing or we’ll charge you for the full stay.” “…it doesn’t matter (the young lady on the phone was very snooty and rude…), that’s our policy!” I tried to email a cancellation request, their email server wouldn’t respond… Very nice. …disgruntled and more than a little angry I found and emailed their Corporate BC Regional Manager explaining my frustrations. “…sorry, no exceptions!” If you can possibly avoid Whistler’s Riverside Resort …do so. …tiny sites, unsympathetic staff, and if you have a problem, you’ll be treated badly.

David and Dorothy...
