If you have allergies this is not the place for you. Ordered a meal, told them I'm allergic to nuts and they said that wouldn't be a problem. When I had a reaction to my meal, there was no apology, I was told by the manager that she asked the chef and he used a separate chopping board (as if that's the only way the food could have been contaminated). The implication was that I was making it up to avoid paying for my barely eaten meal. She offered another meal and I told her that I was not going to eat anything else from that kitchen. I didn't have to use my epipen, but I had enough of a reaction for it to ruin the rest of my day. They did not charge me for the meal in the end, and begrudungly apologized later when we were leaving as we took the manager aside to try and explain how dangerous it can be to serve contaminated food to people with severe allergies. Also if you prefer not to be seated next to a fly infestation then this is also not the place for you. There were multiple other tables and they sat us next to a window where there were dozens and dozen of flies on the window. Of course we kept having to bat them away from our food and drinks. When we complained about it, we were told that 'it's just nature', and the doors are open so basically there was nothing they could do. No offer to move us to a table away from where these flies have clearly decided to start their own civilization. Lastly the attitude of the staff and in particular the manager, the lack of service and lack of apology for what was a truly awful dining experience was appalling. My sister and I were the only people of colour in the restaurant, including staff. It was hard to come away from that experience thinking that it was not a factor in how we were treated. There are some glaring training issues (or lack thereof) at this place. If they only wish to serve golf club members then perhaps they should become a...
Read moreA Disappointing and Unwelcoming Experience!
My recent visit to your restaurant was prompted by its reputation as a beautiful place to enjoy a meal and drinks with a view. Unfortunately, what began with high expectations quickly turned into a deeply unsettling experience due to the unprofessional and unwelcoming behavior of your staff.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear we were not a welcomed presence. Despite being told over the phone that patio reservations were not taken, we were initially brushed aside and seated in a secluded corner. When we inquired about a table closer to the scenic lake view, we were then told those tables were "all reserved," a direct contradiction of the information we were given earlier.
The service was also unacceptable; we were left waiting for over 15 minutes without even being offered water. The attitude from the host and several servers was consistently dismissive. While I did not have the opportunity to taste the food, my review is based entirely on this lack of hospitality. We ultimately ordered only a single beer before deciding to leave.
As someone who has lived in Toronto my entire life, I have never experienced such a blatant disregard for a paying customer. We had driven 20 minutes to your establishment with the simple expectation of a hospitable and scenic meal. It is my firm belief that making every guest feel valued should be the key focus of your service.
I hope you will take this feedback seriously and address the issues with your staff's approach to guest service. I've still added a photo of the place because it is...
Read moreArrived there at 6:30pm on a Thursday night and was told it was probably a 45 min wait but was pleasantly surprised to be seated in 25 mins inside. The patio was a bit longer of a wait so we went with the shorter wait and cooler air conditioned inside. Our server, Linsey M, introduced herself and took our order right away, within 3 mins we had water and drinks. Thirty mins later she informed us something happened to the order which didn't get processed but they're making it right away. I don't think its ever easy to tell hungry customers there order is delayed so I appreciate her being honest. Nevertheless, after she told us about the delay our food showed up 2 mins later so no big deal, My wife and I were very impressed with the size of the portions and quality of food. All dishes we had were excellent! We had a caesar salad, hot wings and halibut and chips with a side caesar, Crown and Coke and Lime Berry Spritz. After our food was done two other people cleared the dishes. I say this because its always nice to see people working as an efficient team. At the end we received the check and they had discounted our meal which was not necessary but very nice. I know its hard to get help in Whistler at the moment so I appreciate the people that are working hard to give good service. Table 19 is a place I would go back and definitely recommend. To Linsey and staff: Thanks for a pleasant...
