So excited to give it a try today! Seeing them started renovation in the summer and happy to find they open in the fall. Nothing fancy but everything simple and decent - only two/three pages of menus, easy process to order and go, small cozy store for takeout only. I only tried the Salmon rolls today as a snack as I didn't bring enough for lunch. Food is good: Salmon is fresh, rice is soft and sweet, and the aroma of seaweed hits your face as you open the lid. Wasabi is not spicy enough from my perspective, but I understand not everyone likes strong wasabi. Yellow ginger is also good, instead of pink cheap ones. Price is reasonable - from $6 to under $17. They've just started their business and I believe everything will get better. I hope they will have more illustrations on their menu so that I will find what to expect before I place an order. Looking forward to party trays options in the coming Spring so that I can convince my boss to order it as an office dinner together!

Truly well put together with thought. The owner was very personable and nice. Hands down great customer service We bought the Poppular Box $55 As for the food, gorgeous, well put together presentation. Taste wise personally, I found it a bit too intense. I feel like the food should speak for itself, this place has great potential but tonight it was a bit too salty for my pallette and blood pressure. Torched maki, you can Taste the butane. For the price point I feel like there is room for this place to grow and learn. Simplify the dishes, dont make it so fancy with creativity i.e wasabi sauce, overly spicy, overly salty sauces. The salt really hits you in the mouth after a few bites. Have more of a clean lighter well balanced finish and less extreme. Just in my opinion but maybe others enjoy the intensity. Its a fairly new establishment, I will come back again to try something different later on.

UPDATE: tried the take out again today after having a great first experience and I’m disappointed to report that the quality has already dropped substantially from our first visit. Ordering the same thing, this time there was double the salmon in replacement of the higher quality types of cuts. Missing this time was tako (octopus) and ikura (squid). Even the layout and garnishes were no longer as impressive. The rice container had 1/3 less rice than our first visit and I ended the lunch still hungry. Maybe they are working through the opening kinks, but if this is the standard moving forward, I would highly recommend looking elsewhere. ORIGINAL REVIEW (Opening day) Had lunch during their soft opening. The owners seem very nice and they mentioned the menu will expand at a later time. We ordered the sushi lunch that I thought was very decent for the price and not overloaded with salmon (a good thing). Miso soup was very good, definitely better than usual and the rice was actually seasoned sushi rice. They appear to have a very good selection of maki rolls and have pressed sushi as well.

Ordered Shari yesterday and was thoroughly impressed by the food and service. Order was running late because of an unusually high number of orders and the owners went out of their way to be apologetic and provide complimentary miso and corn soups as a kind gesture for the longer wait. My family has ordered from Shari on other weekends and there was no issue, so I think this week was simply an outlier. The sashimi was fresh and perfectly portioned, and the rolls were delicious. Especially enjoyed the Titan, red dragon (seared tuna and truffle oil combo was delicious and unique) and paradise rolls (so fresh, and a nice lighter contrast to the spicer rolls with tempura). Thanks for the great family dinner!

Heard about this place and decided to give it a try. There are many fish not available on menu. Got the salmon and ikura rice bowl. I think I got overcharged as this is $22 with taxes, and I didn't pay attention when I paid and only realized until I got home. The food portion is small. The fish seem fresh. The sushi rice was kind of cold and hard, and doesn't taste like sushi rice even thou they use the Japanese rice grain. Overall, I'm not very impressed about it. Maybe will give another try months later when they have sorted out everything.

Ordered a lunchbox around when they first opened. Tasted great and loved the corn soup option on the side. A bit expensive for the portion you get on this item, but then again food costs are high everywhere so I’m not holding it against them. Looking forward to coming back soon and would definitely recommend Shari to friends and family. Update: Placed a dinner order for their Eel Don and the Shari House Don.
