Escape Social — Attraction in Winnipeg

We did “Le cirque du mystere” with 3 adults and 3 kids. To preface we have done a ton of escape rooms with various ages of kids. The person at the desk was a little off right from the start. There was Lego all over the front desk and many were moveable (a maze, swing, etc.) so the kids were interested in it as soon as we got there, but she seemed irritated that they were touching it but there was no mention or indication that it was not to be touched or for display only. One of the kids picked up the lock and key for our cubby and she told him “don’t touch that”. That feeling kind of extended through our stay. Once we got in the room some of the puzzles weren’t working and at one point she came in and said “well there’s a knot in it” and we were left feeling like that was our fault. The room had some great puzzles and she was very helpful on screen with the hints and ensured we were making it through but just not a personality suited for the front desk. This was so much fun! Did the circus room, and it had a great variety of puzzles that kept everyone busy :) The hints were really helpful too - it was so funny at times to think that we were "talking amongst ourselves", only to have the screen answer a question that we were pondering (mostly about whether we were doing the right thing). The staff is wonderful too! Makes such a difference when you can tell that they're enjoying their job 😊

Only potential feedback could be that it would be great to see future rooms include more sound and/or light effects! Right now you can still kind of tell that you're in a room, those additions might truly help you feel completely immersed 😜

We had booked a room at another place but couldn’t make it. These guys were super close to our reservation so we tried the Fallout room. It was tones of fun! There were hard puzzles and easy ones, a good variety of types to do. Music puzzle, locks, cord scheme, colour palette. It was one of the best I’ve been to in a long time. Not to mention our game master was made for this job!! Cutest lady with a big personality that gets you pumped for the room. She doesn’t just bring you over and speak monotone. She had enthusiasm!! I will be trying the circus room with my kids next. She advised they can modify it for...
