Zero Star: A Disappointing Experience: Why I Won’t Return (But Somehow Always Do)

I have been visiting this indoor fun park for nearly six years, and every time, I promise myself it will be the last. Yet, I keep returning—not because the experience improves, but because there are few other indoor options for kids in Winnipeg during the colder months. Unfortunately, this place seems to take full advantage of that, prioritizing their profits over providing quality service or safety.

Here are just a few of my grievances: I once dislocated my knee on their play structures due to improperly sealed rollers. The staff was completely unprepared for such an incident. They brought out a small first aid kit with only bandages—hardly useful for a serious injury. No one seemed to know how to handle the situation or whether they should call for medical help. After my injury, they gave me a free pass to compensate for the two-hour family pass I couldn’t use. However, their system is so unorganized that when I returned to use the pass, they refused to honor it. Instead, they only offered a 50% discount. The pricing here is outrageous. Even if you’re just supervising your child and not participating, you’re required to pay an entry fee—and they force you to buy their branded socks. Birthday party packages are overpriced and barebones; you’re expected to provide your own food and decorations despite the high costs. The washrooms are poorly maintained and lack basic amenities. There are no individual garbage bins, so if you need to dispose of pads or diapers, you’re expected to carry them out to a main bin. When I raised this issue with a manager, she casually mentioned that one washroom has a bin, as if I’m supposed to know which one. This is unacceptable and unhygienic. The employees often walk around like security guards, treating parents as if they’re nuisances rather than valued customers. Their behavior is consistently unprofessional and dismissive.

Over the years, I’ve read reviews criticizing this place, and the response from management is always the same: “Thank you for your feedback; it helps us improve. Give us another chance.” But as someone who has been going there for nearly six years, I can confidently say that nothing has changed for the better. Any changes they make are only for their own benefit, not for the customers or their kids.

Despite all of this, I still feel torn because my 6-year-old daughter loves going there. It’s hard to explain to her why this place is so frustrating. However, I feel strongly that the fun park exploits the lack of alternatives in Winnipeg by offering subpar service at premium prices.

To anyone considering this place: think twice before going. And to the management—please address these glaring issues. Your customers...

My children had fun and that is important. But not the primary reason I booked this.

I strongly recommend Never have a party at the Fun Park on Wilkes. It's exorbitantly expensive costing $600. And they wanted me to pay $120 extra just for parents to watch their kids eat cake upstairs. Not to jump. Just to participate in 30 minutes of cake and presents. They didn't give us our water that should have been included with the party. Then when I went to inquire about the water they would only give me 10. They said that the gold package only included 10 bottles when I paid for 15 admissions. They refused to let me pay the 2 hour jump price for the kids 5 and under (50% less) stating that the party price is set regardless of age. But what did that get me? Nothing other than those 5 kids who were 5 and under were able to spend a few minutes eating cake upstairs. Let’s talk about the “exclusive” upstairs space. It was only reserved for 30 mins. it was a single table with 4 other families all around us. Super busy. Loud. Chaotic. The facility doesn’t have an option to make announcements so I spent 25 minutes trying to find all the children to get upstairs wasting 10 of those 30 minutes meaning we had to rush through cake and presents in 20 mins for two kids celebrating with 13 friends. Two kids left the upstairs without asking and our jump time was done so again, no announcement option to call them back so missed half the gifts trying to chase after them. I also got asked to leave the jump floor while looking because I didn’t get a wrist band despite being a “supervisor” for the party. That’s right, so while trying to wrangle kids, you somehow need to do this from a distance because parents also aren’t allowed on the jump floor. There were again, no parents upstairs keeping kiddos in check because, again, I would have needed to pay $30 a parent to just exist in that space. Unreal. Cleaning the table was included in the price. But they only meant wiping the table. Cleaning the table was my responsibility and somehow needed to include this in the 30 minutes as well. I was prepared to say forget it at the beginning of this fiasco when they wanted me to pay for parents to watch presents, and get a refund and just go to McDonald’s playplace but of course, the manager wasn’t in on a fully booked Saturday to facilitate this. The point of paying for a kids party (for me anyways) is less stress. This was horrible. Such a disgusting cash grab....

Visited today with my boys. One who is only 2. When purchasing tickets were instructed for myself that if I don’t have a ticket I can not jump on the trampoline. Which is cool, I’m just here to watch my boys have fun and supervise. My boys were playing in the dodgeball area. I was watching from outside and had a staff come ask for my wristband. I said I didn’t have one and that the front said I can watch my kids as long as I don’t jump with them without a wristband. Which I wasn’t. He told me I couldn’t watch my children. I asked who will watch them. Rudely he said him. A stranger who apparently is the safety person watching the 50-60 other kids at the same time. I’m pretty sure legally that isn’t allowed at all for one adult to 50-60 kids? This place preaches safety reasons for parents to not watch their kids in the trampoline area. But one guy watching 50 kids? Pretty sure not allowed legally. Especially when half the kids are in the play area and I didn’t see him once walk over to supervise it. Anyway, I asked him to get his manager and he was going too but no one returned to discuss my safety issue with them. This place claims their prices are due to inflation and business and safety? We’ll they must be cashing in as the place hasn’t seen any improvements in years, and the lack of staff watching for safety is awful.

Also my kids had to use the bathrooms while there and all stalls had the doors locked without anyone in them? I’m sure that’s against some health liabilities too? Not having accessible facilities.

Prices $10.00 for an hour for a 2 year old? Really? Also 10.00 an hour up to 5. Then $20.00 an hour for 6 and older??? Talk about unreasonable and price gouging.

We definitely won’t be back or supporting a business like this. Other much better indoor play structures in town or flying squirrel who actually make families feel welcome.

Do yourself a favour before you go. Read some reviews and pick another spot, this place is sketchy and staff are...
