Museu Etnográfico da Praia — Attraction in Platô

We really wanted to see the Ethno Museum and tried to visit this afternoon (Thursday 21 March '24). We tried to find it from the pedestrian street R 5 de Julho and from the next street (Av Amilcar Cabral), as Maps shows it between the two. Walked round the blocks and along all nearby side streets for half-an-hour this morning and we could not find it or any signs to it anywhere! Disappointing. Someone collected the contents of some village houses in 1995, added some very limited descriptions (most.of.which say "under research") and left it at that. There are a few video screens but placed in places and at a height that makes them hard to watch. The biggest disappointment iss that there are no historians or students in Cabo Verde to update and improve this...

Such a wonderful museum honoring many historic objects created by te people of Cape Verde. Exhibition explanations were thoughtfully printed in English and French addition to Portuguese. The partial remaining ground level historic building structures are also quite lovely. Nice also to see local families with children...
