A wonderful museum that you absolutely should visit while in Arica. The owner (his late father compiled the collection during his lifetime) gave me a wonderful private tour in English and explained the amazing diversity and variety of shells, starfish, sponges, etc. as well as tanks with live fish. This museum was a great disappointment. First of all, it's a tiny little museum consisting of only one big room. There's many shells but only two aquariums and almost no fish inside. This place is just amazing! People here know a lot and are happy to show you around in spanish and english. I learned so many interesting things and got inspired by the beauty of the ocean. There are some aquariums inside to get a good overview of the population of fish and other species...
