I found the hotel quite nice. Stayed here on two separate occasions. Once in a superior room and once in a standard room. Superior rooms are definitely better. Bathrooms are small and a bit tired, but very clean. The hotel facility itself was great, with a lovely pool and pool area, good WiFi throughout the building and in the pool area as well. Very nice extended breakfast. The only downfall of this place is the atrocious staff. The desk clerks were unfailing unpleasant, unhappy and unhelpful.What a shame! I think this is why the hotel tends to rate poorly more so than the facility itself. I would stay here again because the actual hotel was a very good value...
Read moreWe stayed in the Savona after arriving late and tired to Arica. The room we got was clean and comfortable. There was no A/C, but a standing fan was provided, and it worked well enough through the night to keep us cool. The hotel is steps away from the main plaza, so close to lots of restaurants and bars and shopping. We would have stayed in this hotel longer had the pool been operative. The patio/pool area is quite large and pretty, but the pool was empty as it was being repaired. Arica is too hot and dry to enjoy without some pool time! For one night though, it was a great...

The hotel is very handy for the museum that displays the Chinchorro Mummies.||The lack of A/C was not a problem as there was a big fan in the room. Breakfast was average - poor bread, not enough fresh fruit, yoghurts etc and the coffee was awful (so often the case in South American hotels - a poor way to save money...
