Hotel Samaña — Hotel in Arica

The hotel has a good position, but everything else was really disappointing. Heavily overpriced for the carnival; room only had a window on the common passage, meaning no privacy at all, plus the tend provided wasn’t dark at all and all night you had light coming from hotel lights (that are always on); bathroom with no window is disgusting; sheets were dirty and they didn’t even change them the second day, as they had exactly the same stains; beds had wheels which were impossible to block, you couldn’t avoid having the bed moving all over the place every time you touched it; breakfast only served warm dishes on monday after the carnival, clearly they don’t care about mantaining the same service when more people are in the hotel. But the worse of all was that the window opening on the common passage didn’t even shut properly and could be opened from outside without any problem; i asked at the reception, they said they would have fixed it, the day after they said they were going to do it the same day and nothing ever happened. As a result i had to spend 3 overpriced day in a room keeping everything in locked luggage as anyone could get in my room; i understand problems, but lying to your face just show total disrispect for the customers, they just don’t care.|With what they charge i expected much, much more, you can find much...

The best I can say of this hotel is its location: right in the center of Arica, so everything can be reached easily, for example good restaurants. ||||But I disliked the fact, that our room (like all the others I could see) opened to an inner courtyard and thus had no fresh air at all. Maybe the horrible smell in our room was the consequence of this lack of fresh air, anyway it smelled extremely moldy and musty. ||||Besides that the room was really tiny, we have 2 suitcases and could only open one of them, the other one was in the way. Bathroom was very small too. ||||Breakfast was surprisingly good, with fresh juices and fruit. But though the hotel was not expensive in relation to the high Chilean hotel prices, I still think that it was too expensive for the kind of room...
