This is one of the very famous temples in HK. Lots of people came to visited this temple and prayed their worship to the 2 ancient emperors . This is a very special historical building , now is on a busy market street, surrounded by all the high raised buildings.

Beautiful temple in the new territory of Kowloon area. It is in the middle of a neighborhood market. The liveliness of the entire area is buzzing with people. Love the action here. A good experience.

The historic Man Mo Temple (free entry) on Fu Shin Street is the most interesting temple to visit in Tai Po. Buit in 1891 near the old Tai Po marketplace, the temple is dedicated to the God of Literature (Man) and the God of War (Mo). This this was a centre of administration, worship and economic activity for local villagers for many decades.

Man Mo temple in Tai Po was restored in 1985, after having been recognised as a historical monument in Hong Kong 1984 and remains in very good viewing condition if you want to visit today.

There is nice courtyard just in front of the temple entrance. the exterior includes colourful mural scenes above the door as well. This is nice to see. Within the temple, you'll see another centre patio area, traditional shrines of worship

Outside of the temple, you'll find colourful mural scenes above the door. Within the temple, there is a small open courtyard, traditional shrine a neat collection deity figures and traditional incense coils typical of Chinese temples.

In the end, this is a neat temple to stop by and visit if you plan to spend time in Tai Po visiting area attractions like the local market or the Hong Kong...

The Man Mo Temple was built about 100 years ago by the Tsat Yeuk Community of Tai Po to mark the founding of Tai Wo Shi (Tai Wo Market Town) which is now commonly known as Tai Po Market. Full restoration of the temple was undertaken by the Tai Po Tsat Yeuk Rural Committee in 1985 with technical advice and a subsidy from the Government. This temple represents the struggle for power between the Tangs and other clans led...
