Best large dog park in Hong Kong -- better than Cyberport. It has a dedicated parking lot and water facilities, it's safely far away from traffic, it's huge, and it's well-maintained. If you come here and don't have a dog, you at least better like dogs!

That said, many people here unleash their poorly trained dogs that don't come when called -- sometimes even aggressive dogs. I've seen a dog aggressively attack another dog, and the attacker's owners still didn't put the leash on, and he ran up and attacked that same dog again later. Keep a close eye on your precious furbabies, and if you know your dog has aggressive tendencies, please don't bring them to a dog park! Even if they're on a leash, most other dogs won't be.

Note that on some days (usually Sundays) Penfold has very limited hours (9-11:30 am) due to the horse races. Check the website before you go.

I had a very enjoyable picnic day here and returned with my daughter to discover that it is also an excellent place to practice riding bicycle. We enjoyed exploring the paths, the lake and the bird life and we even found a horseshoe walking across the training track! It is easy to access by private car, private bus or taxi but it was a real pain in the arse to get back from there on foot (especially carrying a bicycle and a tired-out child). This is a real shame because the park ought to get used a whole lot more and it could be if they had the Racetrack MTR station open more often --not just on race days.
