MoMo Cafe is the feature restaurant on the 1st floor of the Courtyard by Marriot in Sha Tin. The restaurant is open from 6.30am to 12am daily, serving meals throughout the day. Menu is a fair mix of traditional Western, Chinese and other Asian dishes.
Staff are polite and attentive. Note that the restaurant seating area is under renovation during August 2019. As such, mains are taken in the large banquet room on the same floor.
During a recent dinner, I had the Beef Burger with cheese, bacon and normal toppings. Patty was correctly grilled at medium temperature, had nice flavour. Toppings were fresh and bun just fine. Served with fries, this was a good burger by Hong Kong standards.
Note that they have a Momo Burger Combo special - Beef Burger and beer or soft drink (HK$198) this is promoted in the hotel rooms but I didn't see it on the menu at the restaurant when I visited.
Overall, not a bad restaurant for hotel guests and nearby residents due to the lack of proper western restaurants in this area. Prices are on the high side for Sha Tin but this is a hotel restaurant so not to...
Read moreOur family gathers here to have lunch buffet every Chinese year. We like the atmosphere and the staff are kind. The location is close to our home. However, this year he have to and of course did complain it. We booked the table very early because we want the sofa tables at the centre of the Cafe as every year we used to be. They said we can earn the early bird discount and required full payment. So we followed their instruction. As the result, we paid 10% more than the others. It is truely unbelievable that they applied special discount to those late bookings and the price is lower than us. They don't care about their regular customers. May be this is why they don't have any!! The variety of dishes and dessert has decreased, and they set a time limit this year. No more Caishen and lion dance show which also disappointed us. It is difficult to enjoy a perfect lunch buffet here again in Chinese new year. If they have market strategy, they should call those regular customers privately and apply special...
Read moreWent here for dinner on Saturday evening. It was as expected for a buffet. I didn't even get to snap any pics. More or less standard for HK buffets actually maybe above standard slightly.
The oxtail was a nice surprise. It tasted delicious too. The deserts were ok but not many of them variety wise. But then I am used to the likes of Mandarin back in Toronto. Although mandarin does not have oxtail.
Only advice I would have to give is if your are going to dinner buffet then arrive a few moments before 6 when it starts. Otherwise it'll be a bit rough getting a taste of everything. As there is a lot of tourists from the mainland of China that go there for dinner.
Again it's not good or bad it is just where it should be to compete with the other buffets...
