Solar Tower — Attraction in Hong Kong

Solar tower camp will give you feels that is so relaxing and refreshing and far from the buzz of the city.It is a beautiful, peaceful, quite place where you can enjoy the nature. Located at Ma Wan Island.Its green environment wants you to stay longer.Plus it's near at the Noah's Ark and astrology at night.And the view of Tsing Ma bridge at morning is breathtaking.It's one bus away from the airport.Its very good when you do retreat with friends, co-worker or even with your family. I stayed there for one night alone.And even though its my first time actually to travel (internationally) and I don't have any idea how to go there and I'm from the Philippines.. receptionist was so very helpful and guide me throughout, how to locate them and give me security (I just forgot to ask her name) but she is so very nice and accomodating and also the other staff there.My room is enough for me.Clean and very neat.From the bed, pillows, comforter, blanket.One table and one chair. And there is also a cabinet.Aircondition, and also the comfort room have a heater. Only thing is their office is just til 6pm and only security guard will guide you at night, but good thing that every time you pass by buildings the light will be automatically open for you.All in all I love my experience in Solar Tower Camp. I made a midnight reservation through Agoda and showed up at 1am from the airport. Note this is a hostel, so that was a questionable decision. The layout at night is very confusing (they warn you of this), but the night guard was very accommodating and they finally found me a room...there were issues with key cards.

The taxi from the hotel cost more than the room (round trip), but there is a bus to Tsing Yi station (11 hkd) and to downtown (22 hkd) which is more affordable.

The general atmosphere of the island is amazingly quiet and peaceful. As in over-the-top quiet.

Big drawback: bedbugs (but I was in a dorm, so you kind of expect that on occasion).

All things being equal, if you want to get away from the noise of HK for a few hours of rest, or a decent layover hotel, Solar Tower cannot be beaten. And if you want a day of rest and quiet, the Solar Tower itself is very cool, as is the island/park.

Beautiful, peaceful and quite far from crowded place. It is on a small island. It has clean room, clean bathroom but the service is hard to find, like once i need spoon, i had to look around the place to find someone. There are no shopping area in this area, or even a noodle kiosk. It is a very residential area, only houses will visible here. Please don't bring any heavy luggage, backpack is much recommended because you have to drag it all along the way to the top, yap the place is in the higher ground and there's a rule there : taxi or bus not allowed to go out of their track. Imagine how surprised i am when i took off from my taxi but i have to dragged my heavy luggage while i kinda hiking to reach the Solar Tower.
