I had the great pleasure of spending one term of my exchange year at HKU at University Hall. Although the name is a bit misleading in the way that it is the hall furthest away from the campus, it is a great place and I am happy I went there. The people I met there are still my friends today even after 4 years of my time at UHall. I was lucky getting a room on the first floor with access to the balcony surrounding the building offering a marvelous view over the west of Hong Kong Island....

University Hall was formally declared a historical monument by the Antiquity and Monument Office of Hong Kong on 15 September 1995. In 1954 the University of Hong Kong purchased the Nazareth from the French Mission for the purpose of setting up undergraduate students’ hostel there. When alteration completed in two years, the chapel was converted into a dining hall and the crypt became the common room.
