Skypark Macau by AJ Hackett — Attraction in Sé

I remember seeing my first Macau Tower bungy jumping videos. I couldn't even watch them without feeling unbelievably bad inside. But gradually that pure horror became terribly fascinating and I knew that I needed to jump as well. It also seemed like a great idea to celebrate my approaching 50th birthday. So I travelled all the way from Estonia to the end of the world, i.e. to Macau. In Macau, I went for a walk at night. I saw the tower. I heard it say: "Come!" I walked to the tower. It was a long walk. I went to see the "bed" where the jumpers are lowered later. There I looked up. The tower seemed like a silent nocturnal flower with a very long stem. I knew I would return to it the next day. And I did.

The experience divided me into two separate beings. My mind was ready. I had imagined that jump for many months. I think I disappointed the lovely crew somewhat because I needed only one countdown. Maybe it would have been more entertaining for them with ten countdowns or so? My body became a clown. It felt it was going to die in a horrible way. I think I also forgot my name up there. I was told to look at a bridge. I can't remember seeing any bridges. Or maybe I saw a foggy glimpse? Which bridge was it?

The jump is deeply relaxing and therapeutic. During the fall I no longer felt alive but I did not feel dead either. Now I know that there are life, death and the jump. The jump made my other fears smaller and made me feel mentally much better.

The jumping platform is the worst part of the experience. It probably makes jumping easier though because you really do not want to stand on that platform.

For the record, I did not do the bungee jump. It was my husband that did the jump. According to my husband, this had to have been one of the most thrilling experiences of his life! He wanted to face his fear of falling and decided doing a bungee jump from the tallest platform in the world would be monumental! He made the reservation online and arrived about 30 minutes early to check-in and do the orientation. The process was very smooth, and the staff was top notch. This was his first time bungee jumping, the quality of the staff and equipment gave him a lot of confidence that safety was top priority. He also booked the photo/video package, it was well worth it! I was waiting for him outside at the bottom. The staff there was also amazing, letting me know when it was my husband's turn to jump since there were several people before him.
