As muito tradicionais corridas de barcos dragão têm uma história nestas paragens que remontam há vários séculos atrás. Tiveram alguns anos de interregno durante o séc. XX, mas retomaram o seu lugar junto da população de Macau a partir de 1979. Presentemente ocorrem durante todo mês de junho e são realmente um espetáculo para ser visto. A multidão aplaude e há uma grande festa palpável no ar enquanto os atletas dos barcos dragão remam até a linha de chegada. Ao longo do ano, estas instalações também acolhem treinos de diversos desportos náuticos. Em terra, as instalações tornaram-se um importante local para diversas manifestações culturais e atividades recreativas. Refiro um outro evento popular que aqui acontece, o Festival de Luz de Macau durante o mês...
