The further you go in the quieter it gets.
Zhongshan park is a great little respite of small twisty paths entwined amongst the larger open spaces.
Towards the western end there's a fairly decent children's park containing rides like bumper cars, a pirate ship, small roller coaster, cups and a few other things all for the reasonable prices of between 10-20rmb.
If you want to feel like you're in nature, but can't get out of the city, then it's a great place to go. Also great for doing a little picnic with friends.
No dogs or bikes allowed within the park, but it seems skateboards are welcome for now.
It's also open currently 24 hours, rich makes it a great night time...

Read moreThis park is beautiful. Especially the woodland, forrest areas. In a busy city you can walk in peaceful forrest with the sounds of bird song. As tourists to Shanghai the park is lovely to watch locals interacting with each other. There was even a small traditional music group practice session. So good I felt like l was at concert. A real gem this park that really looks after the locals...
