Very comfortable and clean at its affordable price point, and I highly recommend it if you don’t mind staying slightly off the tourist central zone. If you have already been to Shanghai a few times, this hotel is perfect as the nearby area is convenient for you to get around the city. The hotel is easily accessible by metro line 2 that can bring you to and from Pudong and Hongqiao (only 4-5 stops to Hongqiao) so you can get here from either airport easily. There is actually an underground pavement that links the subway station to the office building and this hotel (and the adjoining Hyatt Centric), so if you can find the way, you dont need to be walking on the streets outdoors. From the hotel, just go around the corner till you see a small side entry with the M Stand coffee kiosk and take the escalator there to the basement, and you will see signs leading to the subway.||I was given a huge suite with separated living room and the space was huge. Bathroom has double sinks and a standing shower with great water pressure, but no tub. Toiletries are from Caption standard brand, Apotheke Brooklyn, and the were also bottled water provided in the room - but no coffee, and only four tea bags, and two reusable water pouches you can bring home. There is also a water tap on every floor, and note that this Caption has no self service laundry room. The AC in this hotel can be controlled to a temperature you like and unlike some new “green buildings” the temperature can go low so it’s perfect if you like your rooms cold. Bedding was comfortable and I slept very well. ||Breakfast was a busy affair as I think it’s included for most guests and it can get abit frantic - variety was OK and tend to be more Chinese food focused. Not a lot on offer but it’s sufficient for you to be full if you just want a...
Read moreI were there for 3 nites. Location is consider convenient close to the train station, malls, eatery. I think Shanghai is covenient no matter where you stay. The hotel has a very young n modern design. I quite like it after i stayed at Ji Hotel before this hotel. It is a huge different. I do book the hotel with breakfast for 2 days. 1st day breakfast i did get shocked. I were told by the receptionist that the breakfast is served from 6.30am till 10.30am, even though it is official written until 10am. We went dowm around 9.45am. The options is very limited. Both hotels i stayed dont hv omellette. I guess that is the tradition of the hotel there. I finished my first round of breakfast. Thought of getting some fruits n coffee at ard 10.10am, the staffs are already cleaning up. All the plates has been keep away. They even clean up the coffee machine. I asked the staffs if i still can get some coffee, he said sorry sir, we are cleaning up. I find it a bit annoying. They nvr walk to our table to inform if we still need anything before they close everything up. And they speed is fast. That should not be the service standard under Hyatt. After the first day of experience, the 2nd day we went down earlier. 2nd day the workers are all girls. Today experience were different. The gal come to our table to inform that the kitchen is closing soon, and ask if we still need anything else. That kind of actions do make sence more. And the gal did mention 10.30 is the last call. I think the management hv to give proper training to the staffs there. How can 2 groups of workers has such huge different of service.Another issue we faced in this stay is the toilet flushing power. It is not strong enough. It will always a left over. And hv to be flushed a few times. Other then that i think it is a good stay...
Read moreAmazing hotel and probably my favourite hotel by far! Location: conveniently located next to a metro station (can be a bit of a trek after getting off the metro but there’s a shortcut via the mall next to the hotel that takes you up escalators without having to take the stairs to get up from inside the station). Very close to Yuyuan Rd and a lot of different food options nearby. There’s also a couple of large malls a short walking distance away.Room & Facilities: personally really loved the interior design and layout of the room. Perfect room size for solo travellers, has all the amenities you need. The bedding and pillows are a huge plus - they are so comfy. The hotel provides two bottles of drinking water, but they tend to top up to four if you’ve used them all up. Four tea bags are also provided. The hairdryer, kettle and iron are nice brands and well kept. Reception will ask if you need toothbrush and toothpaste upon checking in, they are also topped up when housekeeping comes around. The toiletries brand used also smells really nice.Service: staff are all nice and friendly, very welcoming, no hassles at all.Only downside (not too much of an inconvenience though depending on personal preference): you need to pick up food deliveries by yourself by heading downstairs - two sets of lifts: one down to the reception and another one down to the entrance lobby.Didn’t get to try the restaurant or use the fitness room this time around but will...
