I stayed here for 5 months in 2015. I also stayed in the same building in 2016 (different hotel name). Don't be fooled by two things: ||a) Only the "New Space-Time Ruili Hotel" has the proper hotel reception on the 2nd floor. Every other hotel company name in this building uses a room on another floor for reception and allots rooms from its own inventory. ||b) There is no big selection of rooms to be had (unlike what's portrayed in the hotel sites). There is the basic room, a 28-30 m2 studio with kitchenette and either a double bed or twin beds, the basic room plus a small loft having an extra bed, plus very very few corner rooms (advertised as suites) that are about 60-70% bigger in space (living room plus bedroom).||The rooms can vary in decoration, heating/AC and even furniture, even within the inventory of a given hotel company, let alone across hotel names, so be sure to check in advance and request a different room if necessary. Some rooms for example come with a sofa, some with a just an armchair. ||||As the title says, these are the reasons I stayed here for so long. It worked like a serviced apartment for me, with daily (or weekly) cleaning. In the sea of over-priced hotels in Shanghai (or China, for that matter) it represented an ok value for money. A kitchenette, a washing machine, a relatively comfortable bed, a small table and chairs. The LCD TV gets only Chinese channels and the wifi is limited to circa 2010 China at 2-3 mbps. Cleanliness? you better not inquire very deeply. Gym? no. Customer service? if you can communicate in Chinese, maybe. Convenience? yes, subway almost across the street, plus gyms,...
Read moreThe entrance of the hotel is quiet hard to find, an additional sign would be welcome. The service at the front-desk was okay, but nothing special. When asking where the sub-way could be found the answer was "Just go outside".... true, the sub-way is a little to the left across the street... but then just say "If you go outside, walk 50 mtrs to the left and then it is across the street" sounds much nicer.... brings me to the one positive point: Location! Next to line-2 sub-way station which gives direct connection to the railway station, airport and exhibition centre. Further more there is a big shopping-mall including supermarkets for daily requirements.||The rooms are average, for short stays no problem but not suitable for long stays. ||The breakfast is very poor. Chinese dishes where limited and european style dishes were kept to a minimum.||Conclusion: ||For a short stay with good transportation possibilities: Value for money||Any other situation: Check one of the...
Read moreDecent serviced apartment type accomodation that is situated very close to Zhongshan Park, in the Changning area of Shanghai. It is one of a number of companies that have serviced apartments operating from the same builiding. The rooms and apartments offered by this company are very clean, modern and also equppied with a kitchenette. ||||Prices are usually very reasonable, although the best deals are to be found if booking via an app and paying in advance. Usually that might be a bit risky but writing based on my experience, the room was exactly how it was described.||||Check-in, is in the lobby of the building. The staff speak English but probably a good idea to have an Chinese languge itinerary to hand. To get checked in there is also a QR health code requirement.||||If looking for decent budget accommodation in the city center of Shanghai, this place is pretty...
