Looks can definitely be deceiving. First off, it was so hard to find this hotel as the name of the hotel is not the same as the hotel sign. They call themselves “Grade Hotel” so it was quite confusing when we were trying to find it. The housekeepers also do not change the sheets everyday and we were left with stains on the bed for 3 days until I had to contact them via WeChat.
When my boyfriend booked this hotel, he put in the extra notes area to have something special prepared for me on the 3rd of October as it was my birthday, but they did not do anything even though they said they received his request and would be happy to accommodate and arrange something. This was a huge disappointment as I was during 21 and your 21st birthday is a big milestone.
When we were checking in on the first night, the receptionist wanted us to pay an extra 6.2K RMB even though my boyfriend had already pre-paid on booking.com. He explained to us that it was only a “deposit”. They never put a disclaimer on booking.com that the amount paid online would only be a deposit which stressed us out even more since we couldn’t find the hotel for 30 minutes, had to walk around the streets with out suitcases, and sweating in the hot humid weather. After asking to speak to a manager, he then gave us our key to the room without us having to pay an extra 6K RMB.
Other than dealing with the receptionist, the housekeeper lady was very kind and a sweet lady. God bless her.
But I do not recommend staying in this hotel. They claim the rooms are soundproof but we could hear annoying children screaming and crying from next door. The USB port next to my side of the bed also did not work and was broken. The toilet also broke and wouldn’t flush, the water just kept running and making loud noises. The room in general was pleasant but there was barely any closet space for our clothes so we had to basically live out of our suitcases. The only perks were that there were several seating areas outside the hotel room and a complimentary laundry room. Giving this place 3/5 stars is...
Read moreReally nice luxurious apartment hotel. Front desk was ok, efficient and cordial if not friendly. They share the building with another Hotel that seems to have similar rooms, but the nicer lobby belonged to the other attached hotel as well as the swimming pool/gym. Even though this listing shows swimming-pool/gym, the front desk told me that it actually belongs to the other hotel and due to a "conflict", we could not use it. Seems like false advisement to me. :(I still enjoyed my stay mainly due to the modern well decorated room, and beautiful views, that is kept in great shape by the cleaning staff. The location could not get any better with a subway entrance about 30 ft from the door, and lots of restaurant options nearby. It is a short walk to Sea World (a sea themed upscale shopping mall).I would give this hotel 5 points on everything if it weren't' for the inability to access a promised feature...
Read moreThe location is next to the subway, but better than that you can exit the subway and avoid the heat island effect (a killa mos def!!) by passing through a a/c tunnel with upscale (ie expensive) supermarket which will take you out to a mini mall that is literally across the road from Clouds. Then the location = the view (pic), which can be enjoyed by simply turning the sofa to face it (pic). Buuuuut u don't wanna just lounge around all day, so u can use the gym (pic) and after getting all sweaty there is a laundry room with hand wash options— really important if you have sensitive skin (pics). So a lovely stay during crazy hot humid July/August in Shenzhen is possible at Clouds!*Note there is no 'do not disturb' sign to put outside the door to alert house keeping you have bad jet lag/exhausted etc. But there is a Do Not Disturb button (pic) you...
