Kam Tin Mural Village — Attraction in Yuen Long District

Kam Tim Mural Village is the main draw for non-residents of this rural district in New Territories thanks to secondary school art teacher Jess Kwok Yin-ming who recruited local students to produce street art masterpieces since 2017. Thankfully, the locals are behind this community painting spree that also has the support of the Hong Kong Teachers Dream Fund and Dulux, and even the police post has been turned into an art installation. One of the minor attractions at Kam Tin is the mural village, a series of buildings with colourful street art paintings situated along Kam Tin Road just east of the historic Kat Hing Wai walled village, around a 10-12 minute walk from the Kam Sheung MTR Station.

The murals were started here in 2017 by a local secondary school and students and now adorn probably 20-25 homes, restaurants and even a Police Post. Definitely worth a few minutes to see the paintings if you are planning to do a bit of shopping and sightseeing...

I have really enjoyed walking around this place. It has a very peaceful and chill vibe. The art on the wall is one of a kind and you can find some extra gems all around the town.
