Vegetarians don’t eat here! They put actual pork in my veggie fried rice… and denied it firmly when I first informed them. They made me doubt myself, so I tried another bite to double confirm that it was indeed actual pork. Then they said they’ll have the kitchen to remake. After a good wait, they said they actually went out of the veggie protein.
At this point I asked again if it was actually pork they put inside to which they finally admitted that they did…
It is ok to ran out of the veggie protein, I would’ve gladly accepted a fried rice without the veggie protein if they had told me at the start.
What bothered me so much is that they just put actual pork inside without even checking or informing me at point of serving. And even when I asked them if they had accidentally put pork inside they firmly denied it at first instead of go check with the kitchen - the front staff didn’t cook the dish nor tasted the dish, but they were so confident?
We also ordered veggie fish cake and veggie salad and both turned out not available, but we were only informed after waited for awhile/ during the veggie fried rice incident.
It looked like they had lots of veggie options but most were actually not available and they didn’t mark them as unavailable except for the tofu and mushroom skewers.
They just let you order and waste your time waiting for a good while, then inform you not available.
My family also ordered another stir fry dish (which was not out of stock), but it was never served in the whole 30 min of chaos, they only realised they missed the order when we informed them after we decided to just leave the place.
Terrible experience.
I actually really liked this place, but the last few visits were poor, either many items not available or they missed your order, or you gotta wait for 30-45 min before you get served food. I often bring my family here because this is the only place in the neighbourhood that offers tailored...
Read moreKOK KOK in Kam Tin offers a delightful selection of Thai cuisine that is sure to please any palate. While the restaurant may not be the easiest to reach, the effort is rewarded with a warm atmosphere and friendly staff who enhance the dining experience. The outdoor parking available adds a layer of convenience, despite the location being a bit remote. The prices are reasonable, making it an attractive option for those looking to enjoy authentic Thai flavors. The Thai-style Prawn Sashimi, while fresh and flavorful, may not stand out as exceptional, but it still contributes to a satisfying meal. Although the setting may not evoke a traditional countryside vibe, KOK KOK remains a hidden gem worth exploring for Thai...
Read moreReally nice place. Excellent food. The place feels like home, kind of village house located in an unusual area of Hong Kong. Waiters are very helpful. We paid 420 for 3 people but we ordered a lot. If more reasonable, you can end up paying around 100 per head. The veggies (water spinach) are fresh, and crunchy, the best I ate so far. The satay, the Tom yum soup and the pad tai are also excellent. Only one comment on the drinks: small size and lots of ice. Except that, excellent restaurant, especially if you want to get away from malls and their...
