The beach itself is beautiful, hence the 4 stars, but like every other place in the world, people make it look bad. Try not to go there during holy week (usually late April, but you need to check the colombian calendar). I normally go during the first week of September so there's a lot less people.

I've seen some comments about drunks and hookers and I need to say that it is unfortunately true. I will also say that hookers have a job there because of tourism (Locals know who they are and what they do so they stay away).

As for the food, you have decent choices, but being Colombian I can tell they're really overpriced, specially in the kiosks on the beach.

Some other beautiful beaches are accessible by boat , although the ride may be too bumpy for some.

Again, the beach is wonderful, I usually go there with my wife and watch the kids while they play around. It's a place to relax and...

These reviews are FAKE. Tourists should be avoiding this place at all costs. This beach is dirty, there is trash everywhere, boats are old and dirty, there are malnourished stray cats and dogs. The moment you get off the car, you are swamped with local tour guides overcharging (COP 60.000) and saying they will take you to playa grande on a boat and give you a beach chair and a place to hang out. Only to find out the boat ride is only 5 mins and playa grande is even worse. Was here for 5 mins and hated it. Local government should do something about this place and regulate trash on the beach and tourism. It’s really a shame bc this place has great potential. I strongly recommend you stay away. Go to Tayrona Park and sierra nevada instead. There is nothing...

The beach and water at Taganga are dirty and the beach is small. The guys wearing red shirts selling tours are scammers.

We got a private snorkel tour to chengue beach. It was $500,000. They didn’t provide us with proper snorkel gear, only a single mask that was broken for the 2 of us. No snorkels and no flippers. On the tour, they dropped us at the beach where there were zero fish and a ton of garbage everywhere. On the way back we saw a lot of corals in the water with plenty of fish from the boat. Extremely disappointing and a complete rip off. To top it all off the guy selling the tours pocketed a $50,000 bill when we handed it to him. Stay away from the people in the red shirts selling tours. You’ll end up...

Taganga Beach itself is pretty disappointing—it’s dirty, full of broken glass, bottle caps, and plastic trash scattered around. Not ideal at all if you’re planning to swim or relax by the water. That said, there is a good vibe when it comes to food and drinks—plenty of spots to grab a decent meal or a cold beer. If you’re coming for the beach, you’re better off taking the boat to Playa Grande or Playa Escondida. The water’s way cleaner and better for swimming or just laying out. Boat rides are about 15,000 COP round trip PP. Definitely worth it—and then you can come back to Taganga for lunch or dinner.

The view of Taganga is beautiful, day and night. I found people to be friendly and welcoming. It had a selection of shops and restaurants and a small beach where you can catch trips to other beaches and destinations. We did a couple from here before finding @paraisotraveltours on instagram and from then we used this company everyday for our travels because they went to some great locations and were really great people to be with. So I would highly recommend visiting Taganga and using these people!
