Very nice place where you can learn about the art of basket-making and its importance to the region - and also make pieces of your own with the guides' help.

I stopped in for a workshop to learn how to make a small basket, and the next day returned to make a small plant holder basket. My guides were Santiago on the first day and Jon the second day, both are very talented and patient teachers. The place is quite popular with tourists so make sure you make a reservation in advance so that your workshop is at a more...

We stopped in for the tour (5,000 cop/person) and enjoyed learning about the types of materials used and the products made specifically in this region. Such a neat local speciality. Feeling enamores, we signed up on the spot for a workshop later in the day where one of the artists patiently taught us the ways to make a basket! The teacher was ever-patient, friendly, and forthcoming about life as a young artist in a small town. We loved the experience and are so glad to know more about this special Colombian...

Great little tour of the history of the traditional Colombian method (bejuco) of creating tools and baskets used in cafeteros. We also did the basket making class which was great, the teacher was really kind (and patient!). Beautiful to see how they’re leading the next generation of artisans and keeping great Colombian traditions alive. No need to book, they have a tour every hour...

I really enjoyed my experience during the workshop. Diego was a very good teacher and a pleasure to talk to. I recommend the visit and the workshop, very interesting and important to promote this savoir-faire!
