Although I’m from Colombia I never had the opportunity to be in this area of my country. To start this is a beautiful and colorful town in the middle of the coffe area in Colombia. Sadly it was raining the day we went. All the people I got in contact with were very friendly and helpful. This restaurant is located about 2 blocks from the main plaza - it’s worth the short walk. The restaurant is amazing in all its ways. I live in Las Vegas where you can find extremely high end places and this José Fernando wouldn’t disappoint in my city. They were careful with Covid protocols. The decor is exquisite OMG all the walls have such a beautiful flowers (maybe hand painting) around. The small patio in the middle of the restaurant is gorgeous and give a fresh feeling because the mix of plants and flowers is amazing! Food was delicious, good quality, the presentation on the high end side. The prices very affordable considering the quality, taste and presentation. The service was good. Our waiter was very nice and pleasant person - his name FABIAN. Definitely I would recommend this place. I hope one day I can come back. I JUST LOVED THIS PLACE. from the begging to the end an unforgettable experience.

Breathtaking experience, the service I received from each one of the employees, can’t call them waiters as they all seemed to work as a team, even the cashier served me a glass of wine, was outstanding. I was alone and they were happy to accommodate me by a window and made me feel extremely welcome. The quality of the food is second to none, the presentation and the origin and explanation of the waiter was amazing, I was very happy to pay for the service, unlike other establishments in Filandia 🧐 Extremely recommended, you must try this place

Come for the ambience but don't expect much with the food experience. The house decorations and interior attract people here, with 3 stories to dine from, not necessarily the food. Reservations are needed but during covid times, didn't seem to be an issue as we came without one and the place was pretty empty. Apparently other reviews have commented on the reservation process being unclear. They are insistent on having you order drinks (suggested wine and cocktails multiple times) and give you bad news for not having water then later brought it out anyway; that was confusing. Menu has some variety, expect to pay about 1.5x more than if you ate elsewhere in the town. Was not a horrible experience but if you're looking for more local and authenticity and not have to pay as much, check out the other less hyped places.

Food was good, not amazing. The view was spectacular and the staff are very friendly, however………. the one drink we were looking forward to so much was the “orgasmo” but our waiter informed us they were out of that drink??! It’s only 3 ingredients, whiskey, amaretto and baileys. So walk to one of the many liquor stores on the next street and get it?! Then after a mediocre entree we were excited to order the “encanto” dessert, their signature dessert according to them! We were then told that they were out of encanto desserts as well. So instead of enjoying coffee and dessert we just asked for the check and left extremely disappointed.

Restaurante Jose Fernando, las apariencias engañan, al revisar google maps no podiamos irnos sin probar un restaurante con casi 2000 comentarios en google maps. El lugar en verdad es hermoso el trabajo de renovación de la casa fue muy bueno, sin embargo si vamos a los más importante que es la comida y el servicio lamentablemente fue de verdad de 1 estrella. Como podrán ver no soy muy duro por lo general con las calificaciones sin embargo despues de almorzar acá quedamos con un sin sabor en todo el sentido de la palabra. Primero nos toco buscar a un mesero para que nos atendiera y el restaurante no estaba ni 50% lleno, lo cual no fue un gran problema ya que puede pasar que uno llegue en el momento menos indicado, de las tres bebidas que ofrecen en la carta no alcoholicas y sin gas solamente tenian una (igual no era motivo suficiente para estar decepcionado) sin embargo despues de realizar el pedido, llega la comida y no digo que sea fea, ya que son platos típicos, imposible que sean feos sin embargo uno espera un poco de esmero en la presentación, la verdad 0 estrellas en presentación parecia un corrientazo. Y lo peor la yuca dura, veo que quieren mostrar que un restaurante puede vender comida tipica y ser un éxito y cobrar más caro, sin embargo un poco de decoración seria lo mínimo a tener en cuenta. If you are at Filandia please dont waste your time and money, the place is beautiful go there and have a drink but think twice if you wanna have some food, believe me you will get the same food at any basic colombian restaurant, it does taste good but they dont care about presentation at all, the restaurant looks amazing the house restauration was great but the food is not so different to what you can get on the main square.

¡MAG NÍ FI COOOOOO! Inolvidable y exquisita cena. Mi esposo y yo hicimos una reservacion para cenar el 24 de diciembre en José Fernando pues leímos que es el mejor restaurante de Filandia. Muy atentos me mandaron mensaje un día antes para recordarme. Llegamos y nos recibió Carlos, el mesero que nos atendió con gran amabilidad, su atención fue plausible. Una semana antes de ir, leí reseñas y el menú y, me llamó mucho la atención que un olatillos del restaurante ganó el premio de gastronomía, la "Canilla de cerdo Toteada" y justo ese platillo pedí. Wowwwwww, estuvo excelente. Mi esposo ordenó frijoles con pezuña y le fascinó lo bien preparado que estaba. Él acompañó la cena con un mocktail que le gustó mucho y yo, con una lulada que estuvo súper fresca y deliciosa. Lo único que no me gustó es que habíamos comido un par de horas antes y a la hora que fuimos a cenar, estabamos satisfechos y por eso no pudimos probar más platillos y ni los postres que se ve que están buenísimos. La relación calidad precio es excelente, para un restaurante de esta categoría son muy abundantes las porciones. Cabe mencionar que el restaurante está hermoso, la mesa que nos reservaron estuvo de película, la atención de primera y tuvieron el detallito de darnos como regalito de navidad un postrecito tradicional de la cena navideña colombiana ( buñuelitos minis y natilla) que nosotros como mexicanos, no conocíamos. Muchas gracias por todo y felicitaciones a cada uno de los colaboradores y a los dueños del restaurante José Fernando, hicieron que mi esposo y yo, pasaramos una hermosa y deliciosa Noche Buena.
