For the basic guided tour of the castle rooms, the interior and information are not worth the price of admission. These are not furnished interiors of a historic castle. It's just a chaperoned walk through a museum of random objects that seem unexceptional if you've visited a lot of collections, castles, and museums.
The tour is in Czech and non-speakers get an audio-guide. The audio guide was long-winded and dry. The tour guide talked at a different pace than the audio-guide and either moved to the next room faster or slower than the text moved. Our tour guide was extraordinarily irritated if we were stuck in the previous room listening to the audioguide, waiting for it to catch up, but then lashed out at us in fury when we tried to move to the next room without her supervision. But it was very hard to hear the audio-guide at all with her loud tour going on right next to you in the same room. Really, I can't get over how rude and unprofessional the tour guide girl was. From the get go, she acted as if she was mad she had to give a tour at all. We bought tickets 5 minutes before it started. She rushed inside on the hour without making sure everyone who paid was present, and then berated us angrily for being 3 minutes late. She spent the rest of the tour hounding us in exasperation whenever she got the chance. My goodness, what an...
Rozsah a organizace římského tábora v nedalekých Pasohlávkách mi vyrazila dech. Za sebe dávám 10/10. Druhou, tentokráte komentovanou prohlídku "Zámecký sklep s Obřím sudem", jsme zvolili už v oddechovém tempu, nicméně stát před vinným sudem o objemu kolem sto tisíc litrů bylo skutečným zážitkem. Působivé byly i dřevěné, částečně vyřezávané vinné lisy. Díky, v muzeu se nám moc líbilo!
Due to the lack of time, we took only two tours - the uncommented tour "Romans and Germans in the region below Pálava", which maps the events in the local region in the first centuries AD. The scale and organisation of the Roman camp in nearby Pasohlávky village took my breath away. For myself I give it 10/10. The second one, this time a guided tour of the "Chateau Cellar with the Giant Barrel", was a more leisurely pace, but standing in front of a wine barrel with a volume of around 100,000 litres was just amazing. The wooden, partially carved wine presses were also impressive. Thanks, we really...
