Amazing place, tried to find any bad things but this place is actually perfect. I’m not surprised they built for 4 years. Every place, section, corner are properly planned. We booked Holiday Village / campsite and walked about 20 minutes to get to Lego House. On arrival easy check in and got wristbands through the machine. At the entrance you have access to the shop and massive playground around house (even without ticket). Access to outdoor playground seems to be open for public anytime. To compare to Lego Theme park even were a lot of people in both places - we didn’t feel squashed or waiting in any place more than 5 minutes. Brilliant experience with dinner. Book in advance as they are very popular (robots serves dinner in Lego boxes) and busy. Lego Museum - well designed and prepared. A lot of facts about family and how they established. Whole history about Lego, sets toys. One of the room - with digital screens can give you easy access and see what sets you had in your life for every years. While you have wristbands- that’s gives you opportunity to log in and save your experience - later on. You have 29 days from visit to download pictures, activities etc. Remember at the entrance - next to the machine who produce Lego bricks is the few other machines they print for you special card with unique code. Also at the same time you get pack of brick as souvenir. The unique code and code from wristband give you online access to memories. Whole day is enough to explore every corner. Shop offer better souvenirs than Lego Theme Park for less money. Roughly on some sets you have to pay more about 30%. Also in the middle of the day all tickets are sold out where Lego Theme park - I don’t think so is any limit as was so busy. Waiting time to get attractions or meal about 45 minutes. Lego House we never wait more than 5 minutes for anything. Great place to visit, one of the best experience- especially for our 11 year old son. Toilets, free lockers, facility for breast feeding mums are really nice finished - you feel like at home. Lego house offers a lot of nice activities not only for children - adults also can have great fun. In shop apart nice sets, gifts you can design your own Lego figure with name, tag, logo etc. On site you can top up water for your bottle or use coffee shop or coffee corner with snacks. Only one downside- we couldn’t buy any sticker from Lego House. We are collectors of sticker for our camper from places we visited- that be nice to get from...
Read moreA visit to the LEGO House is a well worth trip if you are either very interested in LEGO or travel with children. As a couple visiting, there are some drawbacks as we did not line up for trying out everything, as most of what was to try was for children.
Buy tickets day in advance.
All in all, the visit we had was fun, interesting and a good memory.
We do recommend going down to the basement to walk through the history of LEGO, in a proper museum style. In the middle there is a visual representation of LEGOs evolution over the years worth admiring and learning how they changed certain parts of their "recipe for success" to better cater to both children and adults. As we move to the main floor again, there is a huge tree standing built of LEGO that is admirably built. On the sides of the tree is the restaurant we didn't have the chance to visit, but from all the laughter, smiles and happy families in the area, seems to be well worth for the experience. On the other side stands a press machine where you can pick up a bag of LEGO 2x4 red bricks, 6 of them, that you can build into a pattern according to the card you get from the machine next to it. Which prints an unique new pattern of how 6 pieces of 2x4 bricks fit together.
As we move upwards into the top floor, you experience marvels of build quality, the dinosaurs and other interesting builds. This part caters well to the adults who want to enjoy bigger marvels and children who enjoy dinosaurs. Moving down one floor in any direction brings you into the different sections of the House that lets you test yourself and your kids in different aspects of how you build LEGO. I wont go too much into detail about how these area are, except they cater more to families than couples without kids.
10/10 for families, 6/10 for childfree couples and...
Read moreFantastic place in which you will see amazing and incredible works of art made of LEGO bricks (whole enormous cities, a volcano, Harry Potter’s Ministry of Magic… etc), play with Lego bricks yourself, get your own freshly produced ones and visit an underground exhibition covering the history of the Lego company, its products and Legoland. Immediately after scanning our entry bracelets we will see a machine producing the bricks and everyone can get their own set (all bags contain the same red bricks) and generate its unique combination of them to build. Among the games I liked the most the one about flowers and bees, it was really cool. Our group had also fun taking pictures looking as if they were built out of the bricks and temporarily shown within the frames on the wall as if they were paintings. Everyone can download these photos from the website. On a practical note, I would advise to make a reservation to Lego House beforehand. On the premises there is a unique restaurant Mini Chefs where I would recommend to make a reservation as well - it was real fun to create our meal orders using the bricks and kind of being served food by the robots. Also, do not forget to get on the roof - it has some surprises in Lego theme as well. In general, when visiting Billund for a weekend like we did, it is best to spend one day in Legoland and one day in Lego House - this way we had an impression of having really full Lego experience. I highly recommend this place...
