I was really looking forward to coming here, but I have to admit I was disappointed. When we arrived, we were told we’d have to wait 20 minutes for a table – even though half the restaurant was clearly empty and the tables weren’t reserved. Fine, we waited outside the whole time.
When we came back in, the staff passed us around like a hot potato, then finally seated us at a table they only started cleaning and setting up after we sat down.
It took another 10 minutes before someone even came to take our order. After ordering, we waited another 25 minutes just to get our water! The wine we ordered never arrived – we had to remind them. Same thing with the sauces – we had to ask three times before they brought them. :(
Meanwhile, the staff at the bar were chatting, laughing, and hugging each other constantly, but nobody came to check on us – even though the restaurant was half empty. You could see how the place is losing customers and missing out on a lot of money from drinks that just don’t get sold.
The sushi was okay – I’d give it 6/10. and good selection at the self-serve bar. The apple chicken and wings were great. The fried shrimp, though, were unfortunately the worst I’ve ever had – tasted like they were cooked in old oil and were dry as wood.
The ice cream in the freezer looked really unappetizing – especially with kids constantly reaching into it. I didn’t touch it, mostly for hygiene reasons.
Overall, a very mixed experience. I left feeling disappointed and thirsty. Such a shame about the inattentive service. I really hope things will improve – it could be a...
Read moreDespite what the reviews say about bad service, the workers were very friendly and kind. You can get a full buffet at the start, with a lot of Asian food, followers by unlimited sushi. The sushi is delicious and I would definitely recommend that you go easier on the buffet, to save more room for the sushi. The online app that you use to order is a little clunky, but the photos help you figure out what you may want to try. Go easy and start small, as wasting more than three will come at an additional charge. There is also ice cream included in the unlimited deal, and if you still crave something sweet, there is an interesting banana sushi to try. It is an experience, so I would recommend it, despite having mayonnaise on top of it. It is a very good value for money, and I can confirm that there are no pieces of sushi falling apart. It is in a good location next to the LEGO house, making it quite convenient to reach, even by bus. The atmosphere was good, too, with fish and lots of plants (albeit plastic). They have a good range of drinks with a good variety of fruit juices and...
Read moreA few new staff teething problems, which we noticed by the disorderly way people were greeted and seated. The menu is seriously lacking in variety with salmon/shrimp/tuna being the main choices. After a few pieces of these, the tastes all just seemed to blend together. Overall it was mediocre, everything was pretty flavourless and bland and the sushi rice also seemed overcooked. Our children tried the buffet but it was mostly just fried dishes - the chicken sticks were dry and almost inedible. Not being able to choose between 'all you can eat' and price per dish meant that we paid a lot more for our kids than what they actually consumed. One of the most expensive meals we've eaten in Billund but certainly not one of the best. Pretty disappointing experience, especially as we had been anticipating the arrival of some variety in the town's food scene. Unfortunately it's the sushi equivalent of Billund's pizza offerings. Tourists and those who've never eaten good sushi will...
