BEWARE of the "Free chairs & table" scam!!! They offer you a *free" place to sit & then up charge you big time for the food, with a $60 minimum, an order of fishy tasting chicken tenders & fishy French fries will run you $15, yuck! The actual beach was very beautiful but it's ruined by the workers & vendors. My wife could hardly enjoy herself sitting under the umbrella while being constantly bombarded by the "vendors" selling everything or just begging, I would keep a close eye on one's belongings here. Additionally I have to mention that there is absolutely nowhere clean to use the restroom which was an obvious problem especially for my 3 younger children. With that said, I did notice that about 200 ft up the beach towards the hotel area, there seemed to be a lot less of the negative vendor traffic & actual restaurants with fair prices and restroom access, so if I ever do go back to Boca Chica Beach, it won't be with children & I'll hit the other side of the Beach. I've been to a lot of beaches in the Dominican Republic, too be honest, almost all of them, lol, every single one of them a much better experience than this one, I highly recommend ALL OF THE BEACHES in the Dominican Republic, I'm a complete beach bum & love this countries coastline. I hope that anyone that visits the Playa de Boca Chica DOES NOT use the experience as the example of what this beautiful country...

This beach is very large and we were able to find a beautiful spot with less people on the furthest east side. I highly recommend going to the beach near the Deep Green Foundation.

When we first arrived we walked West along the beach which was a mistake since it seems like this area is mostly for locals. We walked the other direction and saw a lot of people like mentioned in the reviews. But we kept on walking another 20 - 25 minutes and arrived at a spot with less people and not as many restaurants which made this area awesome. We sat directly on the sand and later decided to get drinks to sit on the long chairs. We didn't eat anything but the drinks weren't the cheapest which is expected for Boca Chica.

We were next to an aquatic municipal park that is maintained by the Deep Green Foundation. The water looked so clean and I learned a little bit about the mangroves. They offer tours where you can snorkle near the park and harvest corals (I wasnt part of the tour so i wasnt sure what they were doing) I truly believe that the plants growing there made a difference for the water quality and there were some small fish swimming nearby.

Maybe we were lucky that but it was a beautiful day and there were not that many people at the spot we...

We were staying in Santo Domingo on business, we saw on the google maps this beautiful looking beach in Boca Chica. I went with my cousin on our day off to enjoy the serenity. We were met with great hospitality to come with men wearing polo shirts and a logo on the breast pocket. They took us to see a beach front spot that we could drink beer and enjoy ourselves. This was all good, the beer was freezing cold, the view was calming. Then the hustling started, we gave in to the massage it was quite enjoyable but 1,000 pesos turned into 2,000 pesos. Next we had everyone trying to sell anything and everything, No only means No when you get aggressive. The waiter suggested the red snapper as it was fresh and delicious. We failed to ask for the menu. ALWAYS ASK HOW MUCH! They tried to charge us for red snapper and beer 180.00 US dollars. After some very very aggressive conversations and intimidation on there part, I (being a larger man) became aggressive back at them ready for combat. This now created an unfavorable seen and they adjusted there price. Turns out they have alternative menus for Tourists and locals. Best thing you can do is be aware they are going to hustle you every...

Playa boca chica ha sido conocido en el mundo como boca chica beach. Its a very nice beach and a lot of people all over the world visits this beach and as a reminder and they have nice experience and good restaurants with good food. The fried fish is the best fried fish in the country. The only place you can find it is at playa boca chica. They have the best fried fish. Its at an affordable price less than 10dollars per normal sized fish. You only have to be careful so that you will not be cheated by side runners or hustlers. Its better you go straight to the well known restaurant and eat your food. You can rent seats if you are with family and friends. Water is at normal level and has no deeper area. The deeper area were blocked and the sand is white. The government took good care of that. Also do not shave before entering inside the water to avoid any unwanted infections. You all know. Be safe and enjoy your trip as you visit DR.

Boca Chica is the closest beach to Santo Domingo and because of that it tends to be full of people during the weekends. during Easter, there is just way too many people on this beach. it gets crowded, it gets dirty, it gets unsafe and it gets ghetto. I like going to Boca Chica because I get to play beach volleyball, but if they didn't have a volleyball court, I wouldn't go. I rather travel a little farther and go to Juan dolio beach. There are no public restrooms, so you can imagine where people go pee. Some businesses charge 25 pesos to use the restroom and 50 pesos for a locker to leave your valuables. You can rent an umbrella for 100 pesos and a lounge chair for 100 pesos.
