Don't miss the Sofi "Tannoura" dance, accompanied by the Egyptian religious songs praising the Prophet Mohamed. The dance is based on bringing Allah, nature and humans altogether. This mixture advocates love, humanity and worshipping one creator. You can see that in the hand gestures of the dancers: pointing to the sky means Allah; pointing to his heart means love and spreading his arms means the word. He also uses the tambour-like musical instrument to "compose" or "draw" the word "Allah". It's confusing though: to sit in the back rows away from the sound system devices and see less, or to sit in the front and watch it all but go home with a headache! I prefer sitting in the middle. Read moreAn amazing musical and visual experience! The tanoura troupe performs live music and the traditional whirling dance with colorful weighted skirts that seem to take on a life of their own. Mesmerizing and beautiful. Performances on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday nights from 7:30 to 9:00. But get there early! Ticket sales start at 6:30 pm and when we arrived right at that time, there was already a line of around 20 people. We still got good seats a few rows from the front and enjoyed the show immensely.
