Overall impression|Our stay at Jaz Fanara was wonderful. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and very well-maintained. The atmosphere is friendly, and the staff go above and beyond to make your stay pleasant.||Arrival and check-in|Check-in was smooth and efficient. The reception staff were welcoming and helpful, and our room was ready upon arrival. We were given all necessary information about the hotel and facilities.||Room description|Our room was spacious, modern, and very comfortable. The bathroom was equipped with Duravit sinks and Grohe taps, and the linens were of high quality. Everything was clean and well-maintained. The room included all essential amenities, and we felt very comfortable throughout our stay.||Beach and sea|The family rooms are located in a quiet area of the hotel, a bit farther from the beach. The beach itself is sandy, with a gradual entry into the water, making it perfect for children. The coral reef is excellent, with a diverse underwater world including clownfish, eagle rays, parrotfish, and more. Beach service is great; staff help find a sun lounger and lay out towels. The lagoon is calm and the water is clean, without waves.||Food and restaurants|I was very pleased with the food at Jaz Fanara. The menu is varied and offers a wide selection. At dinner, there were always fish and seafood dishes, including crabs, as well as other specials such as quail, roasted lamb, chicken, and beef. Even though my children are very selective eaters, we could always find something suitable for them.|I especially want to note the cleanliness in the restaurants. During breakfast, lunch, and dinner, a staff member constantly walks around, wiping the areas near the buffets where someone might have spilled a little food. At the live cooking stations, I also saw the chefs regularly wiping the counters. At the beach bar, bartender Mohammed washed his hands, which for me is a clear sign that hygiene is taken seriously here.|I would also like to highlight the La Gazella restaurant. Unlike the main restaurant, here you are served by waiters who bring drinks to your table. The atmosphere is much quieter, and every evening before dinner there is live music performed on saxophone, guitar, and other instruments. A special thank you to the waiter named Ahmed, who made our dinners at La Gazella especially comfortable.|It’s also convenient that you can have a snack at the pool bar, where they make excellent, very tasty pizza. A nice bonus is that ice cream is included in the All Inclusive package. It’s placed in a freezer chest so you can help yourself and take as much as you like, without it being portioned out.||Pools and territory|The hotel has two pool areas, one located closer to the beach and another near the La Gazella restaurant. There are also children’s pools and a jacuzzi. All the pools are clean and well-maintained. Sun loungers were always available by the pools, and there are canopies providing shade over some of them.|The atmosphere around the pool near La Gazella is quieter and more relaxing, while the pools closer to the beach have a livelier, more active vibe. The water temperature in all pools was comfortable for swimming.||Entertainment and activities|I did not personally take part in most of the animation activities, but I know that there is morning aqua aerobics in the sea at the beach, a kids’ club, and children’s evening entertainment.||Service|The service at Jaz Fanara exceeded all expectations and was truly outstanding. I have never encountered such attentive and respectful staff in any other hotel. Here, I genuinely felt welcomed, and the team was ready to help with any request. I was pleasantly surprised that even issues the staff were not obliged to handle were resolved quickly and efficiently.|For example, I had problems with the sink draining twice, and within five minutes a plumber had already arrived. When the hairdryer didn’t work, I contacted the reception, and an electrician was ready to assist even before I returned from the pharmacy located on the opposite side of the hotel. This shows how fast and attentive the staff are to guests’ requests.|The reception staff also pleasantly surprised me with how carefully they handle every request. I noticed that they make a real effort to avoid queues at the front desk, and if there is a free staff member, they immediately pause their work and ask how they can help.|I also approached a security guard, asking to exit through a different entrance to reach the pharmacy, and he assisted and waited until we returned. The hotel takes guest safety seriously. Staff escort you to the bus for excursions, record vehicle numbers, and monitor whether guests have left and returned safely.|Regarding medical assistance, my child injured their leg, and the first aid station near the kids’ club promptly treated the wound. A major advantage of the hotel is that there is not only a medical station but also a clinic with a doctor and a nurse. Unfortunately, we had to use the clinic during our stay, and thanks to the professionalism and responsiveness of Doctor Mohammed, we received the necessary care for my husband and were able to return home on time without staying in a hospital in Sharm El-Sheikh.|I also want to mention our housekeeper Mahmoud, who was very attentive and ready to help with any request. He was considerate when I needed to leave our children alone while visiting the clinic, and he accommodated our schedule when we asked to have the room cleaned at the very end of his shift due to my husband being unwell. Mahmoud ensured the room was cleaned at a convenient time for us, showing genuine care and attention.||Summary / recommendations|Jaz Fanara left a strong impression on me with its exceptionally high level of service and genuine care for guests. I am grateful to all the staff for making our stay wonderful, and I also thank the management for creating and maintaining such a high standard of guest service. I can recommend this hotel for families with children, as well as for those who love snorkeling. The coral reef and marine life nearby are truly impressive. I would also gladly return to this...

Just got back from Jaz a few days ago. This was our 3rd time at Jaz in the last year. Just over a year ago we stayed at a TUI flagship and although there were better parts to it, to us it still isn’t as good as Jaz Fanara. When we first stayed at Jaz it was a last minute getaway. Literally. And we are so glad we chose it. To mention the bad parts first to get them out the way. The internet is pants. No denying that. However, you’re on holiday, leave the social and home life at home. Live the moment. You can pick up intermittent signal to get a message home if you really need to. |In places it can be a little rough on the edges. The odd broken or cracked tile here or there. I’m a member of an expensive health club that has more broken tiles and rough edges than at Jaz so it doesn’t bother me. Paintwork is clean and fresh however the perfectionist in me hates that the “cutting in” is messy. But again, it’s clean. |Some points I’ve seen others complain about I’ll address. |1- walk to the beach. Yes it’s downhill which means coming back is uphill. Could be a problem for less abled people but they will give you a lift down if needed. For everyone else there is a bar half way for a pit stop. |2- no toilet on the beach. No, there isn’t. Go before you go 🤷🏼|3- the gym isn’t that good……….. you’re on bloody holiday!!!!! |4- other hotels have people coming to you at your lounger taking drinks orders……. Good for them. However, you’ll be surprised about the power of a good tip at the start of your holiday 😉|4- the water they put on the garden stinks. Yes, yes it does. It sits in the pipes in the heat all day then for half hour in the morning they water the garden with it. Never mind. Still better it gets used rather than emptied down the drain and wasted. It’s a million degrees out there. Water is precious. Especially in this day and age. After the first day or so you don’t notice it. Unless you want to and moan about it again. |5- alcohol isn’t free after midnight……. How much do you need in a day? Plus, it’s not exactly expensive either. ||It would be wrong for me not to list a bad point that I really think lets it down. And that is this petrol Engine “ hippy bong” thing they walk around with at night, pumping out smoke that puts vapers to shame. It’s obviously for the mosquitoes but my concern is what else does it kill?? Come on Jaz, get rid of that thing. Let quests buy insect repellent spray for themselves. ||What makes it great in my opinion. First and foremost is the staff. From the gardener or laundry workers all the way to management. They really go above and beyond to help you. Even if their English isn’t as good as the next persons, they really try. You could do the same with Arabic. Even if it’s just hello or thank you. They are polite at all times and work backbreakingly hard in temperatures that cremate English people. The food is really good and I’m a fussy AF eater. On our second visit, most people remembered us and welcomed us back. And we’re not the type of people that draw attention to ourselves. On our last visit, we was remembered and welcomed back like we had been know to them all their lives. The fact that the remember 2 people out of the thousands they see every year shows that they pay attention to the guests. The rooms are clean and made up daily with fresh towels and fresh beach towels daily. The location is amazing with its own house reef that is teeming with life. A dive centre on the beach, which is what we go for, that can’t do enough for you. Speak to Tiger and Jimmy, they got what you need for diving and Amr, Maro, Sam, Mohamed, and Mena are phenomenal instructors and passionate about your experience and the environment they live and work in. True ambassadors for the sport. There’s people that will offer a massage if that’s you thing, obviously additional cost involved with diving, masseuse and photography etc. and it’s a short 30min walk, or 5 minutes in the taxi, to the Farsha cafe which that too is an amazing experience. There’s far more to this hotel than I can list but asking if I would recommend it, absolutely. In fact, we are currently booking 3 more visits for next year. |Fantastic little resort and we love it there. My girlfriend has been to far more hotels in Egypt than I have and she says she prefers Jaz Fanara to the rest. Can’t wait to get back in the new year. Give them a go and hopefully you’ll fall in love with...

My overall experience at Jaz Fanara Resort was truly enjoyable. As with most things, there were both highlights and a few disappointments.

Upon arrival, we initially faced some issues with the location of our room. However, this was promptly resolved the following day once other rooms became available. The staff handled the situation efficiently, which we greatly appreciated. I would like to commend Ahmed, Mohammed x2 and Ramadan, mustafa, zidan, mahamud & amr at the bars, who consistently went above and beyond to cater to our needs. The drinks were exceptional, and their service made our time by the pool all the more pleasant. Additionally, the team at the reception and lounge welcomed us warmly and made us feel like part of a family. Their genuine hospitality, friendly conversations, and ever-present smiles created a comforting and homely atmosphere.

Each day we were pleasantly surprised to return to our room and find thoughtful towel arrangements and immaculate cleaning. While the rooms do show signs of wear and are not newly renovated, the cleanliness was commendable and well-maintained throughout our stay.

The food at the resort was outstanding. Every day we enjoyed a wide variety of dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Both the quality and selection exceeded our expectations, and the beverages at the bars were equally impressive.

A special mention must go to Hamed in the restaurant. He looked after us with exceptional care and attention, especially towards my father who uses crutches. Hamed consistently brought everything we needed directly to our table, ensuring we were comfortable. On our last day, he even came to our door to say goodbye and offer his well wishes. His kindness and professionalism left a lasting impression on our family—he truly deserves recognition for his outstanding service. However, I must also address an unfortunate incident involving the restaurant manager. On our first day, I was approached and questioned about my attire—cycling shorts and a vest top—which was in no way inappropriate. I was told I could not enter the restaurant wearing such clothing. This was particularly upsetting, especially considering that other guests wearing swimwear or bikinis were not approached or questioned.

Furthermore, during another occasion, a staff member came to our table to check if we needed anything, and the manager intervened by pulling a chair toward our table and sarcastically inviting the staff member to sit if he wished to chat. This act, intended to criticize the staff member, was not only inappropriate but also deeply disrespectful to both us and the employee. Following this, the staff member no longer attended our table, and we noticed he was instructed to remain at a distance. The entire incident left us feeling uncomfortable and disheartened. I reported this matter to the front desk management, who offered repeated apologies and suggested it may have been a misunderstanding.

The restaurant manager did eventually offer an apology, but it came only after the issue was briefly brought up again just before our departure. Unfortunately, the apology did not feel as sincere or heartfelt as one would expect given the circumstances. It seemed more like a formality than a genuine acknowledgment of the discomfort and offence caused. This experience, unfortunately, cast a shadow over an otherwise enjoyable evening and left us with mixed feelings upon departure. In conclusion, despite this one upsetting encounter, we were generally very well looked after by the wider team. The staff across the resort consistently greeted us warmly, served us attentively, and made our stay memorable. I would still recommend Jaz Fanara Resort and would consider returning, primarily because of the outstanding hospitality provided by the majority of the staff. While no hotel is perfect, one individual’s actions should not detract from the commendable efforts of the rest Thank you, Jaz Fanara Resort. We hope to visit again in the future and for all the boys you deserve more...

For anyone confused, Jaz Fanara Resort and Jaz Fanara Residence are the same thing. WHAT WE LIKED Food - there is rarely a time where you cant get food! Plus there are two buffets to choice from in the all inclusive. El Medina is down the beach end: popular, busy. La Gazelle is the other end: quiet, outdoor sitting area. There was huge variety in food for all meals. However everyone I spoke to got a tummy bug at some point or rather. I wont fault the hotel for this, as it seems standard for Egypt. Beach - Amazing private beach with one of the best house reefs (all the dive centres visit). Everyone heads for lunch ~1pm and the beach clears out. There’s usually sun loungers available all times of day but if you want a seafront view then either get their first thing or at lunch. You can bring food down from Temple bar too if you get snackish Pools & Grounds - the whole resort is long & thin, with two pool areas at either end. The beauty of this is that there is a super quiet, chill area where no one visits, or the more active beach end, with lots of activations and people to talk to. I recommend exploring the whole resort as soon as you arrive, its immaculate with so many facilities & nooks to discover. Room - I would argue that the Garden rooms are the best. Whilst they're not beach-view, they're quiet and away from the main hubs of activities and pool areas. Be aware that the AC only goes down to 20°C. This is actually an ideal temperature for sleeping though. May was windy, so not too many mosquitoes! Every day the rooms were made up immaculately. Didn't matter if you were away at different times, the staff would come back to check morning or evening if they could do the room, and without being seen! Free 1.5L water bottles were a bonus too. Staff - If you need anything, go to the restaurant staff (particularly La Gazelle staff & Mohammed Emad!). They are so lovely, and will bend over backwards for you. Bad tummy? Special tea made just for you! NOT SO MUCH Reception - Honestly, we found the reception staff aren't interested in helping. If you need anything, the restaurant staff generally know everything and will bend over backwards for you! So its not that you're left without help. Wifi - We were too relaxed to care but Wifi didn't stretch to the rooms & was only available in public spaces. When there were too many people in one place, it was impossible to connect. Singer - Most nights at La Gazelle will have a singer who performs for the outdoor seating area. This may sound rude, but a particular blonde one was a terrible singer who set her speaker far too loud, ruined the atmosphere & drove everyone inside. Staff eventually caught on and she wasn't invited back, then a local Egyptian woman started and was amazing (with appropriate volume). Hope they keep the new one! Resort staff selling things - There is literally everything you could want at this resort (spa, photographer, dive centre). This comes at the cost of people continuously trying to give you a 'good price' on the add on services, and coming back to check if you've changed your mind. This is only an issue if you are down the beach-end of the resort (theyre not up at the other end by La Gazelle). You can apparently get a 'do not disturb' sign for the lounger your on but I never saw any. On the flip side of this, the bar staff will always come over and ask if you want a drink. Egypt is very tip-based so this means people are extra attentive. You're rarely on the loungers at La Gazelle pool without a bespoke drink in hand. Information - You get an info packet on arrival, but there are some hard-to-find QR codes that take you to a portal with loads more information. The reality is that there is SO much happening across this resort that its impossible to communicate everything in all the different visitor languages, but it would benefit from some professional communication/marketing support to improve and streamline comms (both before and after booking).
