Not only we were not informed of any entry fees upon arrival but also the hotel security guard tried to charge us 10 dollars per person to go in the water(later he got told off and of course he refused it etc) ...this is a scam obviously as the normal entry fee is simply 200 LE (egyptian pounds)!! Be very careful if you visit this beach and do not let them scam you simply because you are a foreigner!! Also this beach is not really worth it as it is extremely rocky and shallow and it is impossible to swim in it (im not exaggeratingyou cannot swim here)...overall Basata is a pretty bar if you simply wanna come over and relax for a coffee (no alcohol served here either) but not really worth a visit for a swim...also be aware the prices here are a bit higher than...
