Not only we were not informed of any entry fees upon arrival but also the hotel security guard tried to charge us 10 dollars per person to go in the water(later he got told off and of course he refused it etc) ...this is a scam obviously as the normal entry fee is simply 200 LE (egyptian pounds)!! Be very careful if you visit this beach and do not let them scam you simply because you are a foreigner!! Also this beach is not really worth it as it is extremely rocky and shallow and it is impossible to swim in it (im not exaggeratingyou cannot swim here)...overall Basata is a pretty bar if you simply wanna come over and relax for a coffee (no alcohol served here either) but not really worth a visit for a swim...also be aware the prices here are a bit higher than the other bars

Love this place. I've been here over 20 years ago for the very first time, and some things changed. First of all, you are not allowed to walk through coral reefs, which is amazing, and finally, there are piers to avoid reef destruction. It's clean, and you need to pay for your sunbeds, which is fair, I believe. Atmosphere didn't change, it's still a cool place to stay with good restaurant above , toilets plus showers and diving centre.

Beach is owned by Sharks Bay hotel and has a E£200 fee if you want to go in the sea. We were there to visit Basata cafe in the far left which was great. The snorkelling here was incredible though, some of the best shoreline coral in Sharm, just use the pier/jetty. Beach itself is okay, sand is quite coarse and sun beds are okay (included in beach fee)
