Where to begin?
We are avid travellers, and have been to Sharm El Sheikh more than 15 times. We stayed at Steigenberger, Rixos, Hyatt, Ritz (back in the day) and more. This time we decided to try the FS for my wife's birthday - and it was the best decision we have made.
Let's start with the resort itself - there are thousands of palm trees in the resort, and everywhere you look there are trees, flowers and greenery. The architecture is unique, and very suitable for the location of the resort, as it reflects the Arabic/Middle Eastern design language.
The pool and beach areas are refined, and the pools themselves are heated in the winter period. The beach is wonderful, with tanning beds on the sandy beach, as well as, on the cliffs - with 180 degrees view of the Red Sea and Tiran island. There is a deck leading to the reef, and a life guard manning it at all time.
The rooms are a bit dated, but they have a charm - We are aware of the new additions to the resort, which are going to be more modern, but I'm almost leaning to prefer the old one, in terms of design and charm. Otherwise, the rooms are big and expansive. The bathrooms include everything you need and the bed is a proper KING size and extremely comfortable.
The breakfast was delicious. Every morning, we start our day with a proper breakfast on the outside terrace at Arabesque, and it's better than any other breakfast we experienced in Sharm. The quality of the food was superb, and every day they have something new. Karina was always welcoming us with a smile, and making sure we were getting the best table on the terrace. The croissants are incredible, and for a couple that lives in Paris, we were surprised to find that level of croissants outside of France. There is a station for pancakes, waffles and crepes - made on the spot and with all the extras you can ask for!
The staff are incredible - they are always there for you, and always with a smile on their face. Mary at the front desk, Saeed at the breakfast bar, Ahmed and Ayman at Arabesque, Salama at the Housekeeping, Reyad at the beach, Randa and Moustafa at the Spa/Gym. These are just a few of the wonderful human beings, that made our stay even more relaxing and special. THANK YOU.
The Gym and Spa are incredible. We also met the Spa director, Inna, who is very meticulous. A little bit too harsh with the people working there, for our taste, but she is running a tight ship. The gym itself is spotless and organised, with water and towels available for the guests. There is also the use of Sauna, steam room and the jacuzzi, complimentary for the guests, which we took advantage of after every gym session. There is also a ping pong table, foosball, billiard and air hockey for your enjoyment.
My wife mentioned to Saeed that she loves carrot cakes - who in turn told Sameh Adel, and the next day, they had a carrot cake prepared for her birthday. They also left a chocolate cake in the room that same day. Thank you Sameh and Saeed.
We were supposed to stay for 5 nights, but we loved it so much that we decided to extend for an extra 2 nights. Massive thanks to Sam, the GM, for his help with the extension, and for Waleed Sobhy, the resort manager, who came on the last day, introduced himself, gave us his card, and chatted about the resort and about future stays. We are very grateful for your kind words, professionalism and we hope you continue to perfect this craft, and keep FS as the go-to high end resort in Sharm El Sheikh!
One negative thing, is the fact that everything is rented for extra fees, which is understandable, but for example, when we were in Thailand, the equipment for diving, sports, kayaks and anything else that wasn't motorized, was given for free for the guests. I hope the resort re-considers this approach, and makes these activities complimentary for the guests.
This was one of the most relaxing vacations we have had, not only in Sharm, but anywhere - and we will surely be back to the FS, and...
Read moreWhat a stunning resort! If I were to describe my experience here - I'd say elegance and serenity. Having stayed in the more popular and busier resorts nearby during our trip, this picturesque resort was the perfect way to end our trip and simply just relax. From the moment you enter the resort, you are blown away by the timeless beauty of the resort.
Staff: 5/5 I'll start my review with this first, because from amongst all luxury resorts we've visited, the staff here were hands down the absolute best. We were taken aback by their professionalism, elegance and kindness from the moment we stepped in. They went out of their way to make my 4 year old feel right at home. Every single staff member, from the golf cart drivers to the waiters, the staff at the kids club and the pool boys were simply incredible
Room : 5/5 We stayed in the residential suite and loved how comfortable, clean and spacious it was. The beds were comfy and the rooms and bathrooms were beyond spacious - there was even a cot in the room with toiletries for babies. Housekeeping came twice a day and were always available for any further requests,we even had a washer and dryer in our suite. The balcony was spacious and overlooked the rest of the villas.
Food 5/5: Every single restaurant is amazing in it's own way. Zitouni was much more than what we expected. Our waiter walked us through our options and made sure we tried everything of the best. I love that they have a variety for the kids menu.
Arabesque breakfast felt like breakfast in the coziest place with the best interior and wonderful variety of options for everyone. They have the largest gluten free option I've seen in any hotel. Their pure fruit juices were delicious. Ahmed the waiter was really kind and went out of his way to see to us. The staff member at the fruit station made my 4 year old addicted to the wonderful fruit he served.
The views and the food at the Reef Grill was magical. Wow,wow, wow!! We chose to dine just before sunset and the views of the ocean in the golden hour was magical. The tiramisu was hands down the best we've had and the cheesecake was something my mum cannot stop raving about. Will definitely be back for more dessert
Activities 3/5: The kids club was simply stunning and the cleanest kids club I've seen. The staff were super helpful and kind to the little ones. Whilst they do have a lot of activities planned,I do wish there could be more outdoor activities for the kids such as trampolines and a slide or two in the beautiful pools. The kids do have much less options compared to the other resorts we've stayed at in Sharm. The toys at th beach are old and most of them are broken. If a little more attention is paid to making this resort a bit more child friendly in terms of activities - I think it would do wonders to families visiting with smaller kids as I found my little one bored more often than usual.
Pool and beach : 5/5 Both were incredible. The snorkelling was lovely and there was plenty of corals and marine life to explore. The pools are well kept, big and not crowded at all. Really loved the way the pool boys even cleaned our sunglasses. Complimentary waters are given in a cooler box each time you visit the pool/beach and the staff serve juice every now and then. Just wish there could be a slide or two for the kids. Or maybe a more kid orientated pool area.
This is definitely a resort where you go to relax and calm down. I love that there weren't any unnecessary noise and shows compared to the other resorts in Sharm. Will...
Read moreThe Four Seasons Sharm El Sheikh is an amazing seaside resort with top-tier service! The resort is beautifully constructed on a hillside sloping into the Red Sea.
This is a sprawling resort with a wide range of rooms, chalets, villas, suites and multiple restaurants for the guests to choose from. The entire resort is dotted with magnificent palm trees and calming panoramic views of the Red Sea. We stayed in a 2-bedroom chalet with views of the Red Sea from our balcony. The rooms were nicely furnished, spacious, clean, and welcoming.
The resort area is large enough that they have golf carts transporting guests from one place to another. You just need to call reception and ask them for a golf cart escort and it is there within minutes, but on a couple of occasions my son and I were walking down towards the beach (which was a 5 minute walk from our chalet) when one of the golf carts stopped and asked us if they could drop us somewhere and we took their kind offer.
It is also worth mentioning that some of the best snorkeling we did in Sharm El Sheikh was at the coral reef right off the Four Seasons private beach. This reef can only be accessed from their private beach and is teeming with colorful corals and sea life. It is breathtaking to see such vibrant and different varieties of fish so close to the resort! In contrast, when we took the snorkeling / diving trip to Ras Mohammed, we were part of a flotilla of 25 commercial boats that docked at different parts of the outer reef that had very little sea life and was unfortunately dying.
Four Seasons prides itself on its customer service. No surprise then, all their staff was very helpful and courteous. However, I would like to take this opportunity to mention a few key individuals who made our vacation memorable: • Mary, at the front desk, always remembered my name and would wish me by my last name. She always helped us plan our evening dinners and entertainment at the resort. • Noor, at the breakfast restaurant, went above and beyond in serving everyone with a smile and a lot of patience even when a handful of people surrounded him asking him to make their eggs a certain way. He never got flustered! • Antonious, our server at the Lebanese cuisine "Zitouni," was very welcoming enthusiastic, and attentive. He helped us choose our dishes patiently inquiring about our preferences and explaining each dish. And we were happy that we went with his recommended dishes as they all were simply delicious! • Amgad, at the concierge desk, was extra helpful and empathetic in a situation where my sons, who were traveling alone, were catching an Egyptair flight to Cairo that was delayed and hence they were about to miss their connecting flight. Amgad spent almost 30 minutes with Egyptair on the phone to help resolve the situation. • Lifeguard and attendants at the reef were also very helpful and always forthcoming with timely advice on the best times and beach locations to snorkel in the morning vs. the evening.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at the Four Seasons Sharm El Sheikh resort and given the chance, would love to come...
