Mesqel square, gets it's name from the mesqel celebration held yearly at this square, which marks the finding of the true cross. Mesqel square, is a place where you wittnes such a harmony, between the rushing cars on the big main road, the buses that are busy boarding and dropping off cross country buses (the square is one of the places where long travel buses meet their passengers because it's a convenient spot for the entire city). What I really love about the square and the 3rd activity that catches the eyes is the people working out on the stares, running eadge to eadge and playing soccer on the open space. On top of all this right ahead your view you can wittnes the sky scrapers of the city which is set out to be the financial district of the country. In short, it's one of the hot spots that you want to check out while you are in the city!

Named after the celebration of the finding of the true cross of Jesus Christ which is celebrated at sept 26 nd 27 by the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo church, Meskel Square is owned by the church. Yet it is a center for holding various national gatherings nd events. After it's renovation about 2 years ago it has become a great site to spend time with friends and family. Being located at the center of Addis makes you get a glimpse of the city's rush hour and also enjoy the fresh breath and beauty like the true name of the city. Especially a night time visit is suggested.

One of the best places for events I’ve seen in Addis Ababa. I was perplexed at first it seemed like an event for adults only but they somehow managed to bridge the gap between adults and children, both having fun simultaneously free drafts for the adults and fun rides even swimming pools for the kids. This is one of the best events I’ve been to in Addis Ababa. And the guy on the roof deserves more respect🫡😂

Not only did the subterranean parking make a significant impact in terms of parking availability, but it also served as a model for other facilities in terms of how parking should be constructed. Morning and evening runners will not be able to enjoy the new one as much as they did before in terms of length; I believe the design didn't take it into account
