The Helsinki Olympic Stadium is a place where history and modern Helsinki meet beautifully. Walking up to the stadium, the first thing that catches your eye is the iconic Paavo Nurmi statue standing proudly in front—a timeless reminder of Finland’s legendary runner, “the Flying Finn,” embodies Finland’s golden age of running. Inside, the stadium carries the weight of history as the host of the 1952 Olympic Games, a moment of pride for Finland and a symbol of global unity after difficult times. The atmosphere almost whispers the stories of the athletes who once competed here, and you can feel the legacy in the air. Don’t miss climbing the Olympic Tower, which gives sweeping views over the whole city—one of the best panoramas in Helsinki, especially on a clear day. Whether you’re a sports enthusiast, a history lover, or just someone curious about Finnish culture, the stadium is more than a landmark—it’s a living piece of history. It is included in Helsinki Card. A must-visit when in Helsinki.

Inside was more than enough drink stalls, however, it is not allowed to change 'zones' with an alcoholic drink. So be prepared to drink where you are. Also be prepared to cough a nice 10 euro bill for each time you get thirsty. **It was announced that they allow you to bring your own see-through water bottle, which can be filled at the venue. What appeared, was that us, and all those others see-through water bottles owners should have just brought in an actual from-the-shop-PET-plastic bottle.

The only food type of thing was a bucket of popcorn, a packet of chips or haribos. WHY?

Security was visible throughout. Smoking area was big and located well. The signs were rather confusing. Even though it feels like there is plenty of washrooms, the ques were...
