Restaurant Maharaja — Restaurant in Helsinki sub-region

I want to share something really shocking that happened to me two days ago at Maharaja Restaurant (Mannerheimintie 21, Helsinki).

I went there from another city because I wanted to eat Pakistani food. From the start, the owner or I don’t know who is. He is very rude to me.After the order. When I politely asked for more bread they said we gonna close restaurant as soon and I said I would pay for it — he suddenly got angry and refused.

When I asked why he was behaving like that, he started shouting and abusing me. Then, out of nowhere, he slapped me and took a knife from the kitchen, putting it on my neck. I pushed him away, but he grabbed a fork and tried to attack me again.

I was the last customer around 8:30 p.m., and the whole thing happened in front of security cameras. His coworkers even locked the doors so I couldn’t leave. It all happened 30 minutes. Then he said I will find you and kill you. I don’t know why he was behaving like that .He is mental or psycho. I don’t know what exactly.

After 30 minutes, I managed to call the police. They came after about 10 minutes but didn’t do much — they said the investigation team would call me later. After I wait one day they didn’t call at all. After I came back to city.

I’m a student and I work, so this situation has really scared and stressed me. I just want to share this so people stay aware and safe. No one should ever experience something like this. I would to say avoid...

Had to try an Indian restaurant in every new city I visit and Maharaja was the winner based on online ratings. The restaurant did not disappoint.

We chose not to dine in and do a take out instead. We ordered rice, dal tadka and vegetable curry to keep things simple. Waited in the restaurant while the order was prepared. They have a full fledged bar and a TV screen. Seemed like a nice restaurant to spend the evening enjoying good food & drinks.

The ambience of the restaurant was great and it was not a busy evening. The order was ready in under 15 minutes. The food was well packed and they added papads and raitha to the order. The food tasted authentic.

Pricing was moderate and the location is right opposite to the tram station. Will definitely try Maharaja again when I...

We purchased offerilla coupon for a meal for 2 including baklava dessert and it was not worth it. First they informed that there is no baklava available, instead they have us 2 small dough balls with some sweet sauce. Ithen it turned out we couldn’t both order the same meal (one had to be vegetarian). In the end, we had a lot of leftovers as the meals were large and asked for a food container to pack those. “We have thrown your food in the trash”- they said when we approved a cashier desk when leaving.
