When traveling I try to go see dance performance if schedule matches. I probably saw over 10 different choreographies of Swan Lake, by as many ballet companies in and of many countries. David McAllister’s version was different, and suited very well with what I understand of Finland’s identity and culture. 5 stars for the performance and the Philharmonic orchestra quality. The opera itself is a small sized place, with excellent view from pretty much everywhere, and while the external facade doesn’t do justice to culture, art and the Ooppera itself, the inside decoration and the stunning window-bay with a view on the parc are well designed. It seems that the Opera building is another representation of Finland: external is simple without pretense yet one needs to look at hidden details inside.

Beautiful opera and ballet house. Souvenirs and refreshments can be purchased before and after larger performances, including during planned intervals. Every seat in the house seems to have a clear view of the stage and everything was clean. I went here to watch Cinderella earlier this month and the entire cast were so talented, and the orchestra played flawlessly. I'm looking forward to going again. 🙂

This is a rare artistic feast. From the opening to the finale, every second was captivating. 🎭✨ The stage design is simple yet profound, and every movement of the dancers is as exquisite as a work of art. 💃🎨 The atmosphere in the theater is filled with anticipation and reverence, and the audience's focus made me deeply feel the unparalleled charm of ballet. 👏💖"

A medium sized opera hall. Three stalls up. An excellent professional set with multiple stage adjustments. Acoustics were acceptable for the majority of the time, but could be tweaked. Spelling mistakes in the programme. Interval services could be healthier. There were some nice and rare alcoholic drinks available.

Visiting from Germany over NYE and went to their NYE evening performance of CircOpera 2.0. Magnificent event!!! Brought my backpack with a pair of changing shoes but they are well organised. They have special bags for your wet shoes. Also, you can leave your belongings at the cloakroom for free.

I have never visited an opera before. But on Saturday an opera is free, and it is a really good opportunity to be a part of this fantastic life. Very nice performance, but you should come early to take a good place, so many people, and you will enjoy. It is true and from this time I love opera.
